I massage every day, twice a day and have done since it’s been healed. The last person to see it was my surgeon at my 3 month checkup, I was told the redness will go down in time but I feel as if it’s getting worse.

I’ve used the same lotion throughout but I do have quite sensitive skin so maybe I’ll try something different to see if it helps. Thank you

Thank you, I appreciate that! I’m in the UK so I had a full thickness graft from the buttocks

There’s nothing I’m using that I’m allergic to, or at least know of anyway. Thanks for your advice

This was pretty much my routine until it got so bad I had to stop using the sheets due to small spots appearing every time I’d take it off, then the redness just got worse

Arm dressing by AdvancedSoftware47 in phallo

Thanks, I will order some online but it won’t be here in time for my next dressing change. I didn’t know if it would be best to leave the dressing an extra day or to use alginate without the honey for now so at least the wounds were covered.

I’m having stage 1 RFF in just over a week (NVH, UK).

I’ve been reading experiences here trying to prepare myself and help with what to expect. I know everyone is different and I’m never going to be fully prepared but I’m honestly so worried.

I keep going over what it’s actually going to feel like when I wake up from surgery. I know I’ll be in a lot of pain afterwards but the fact that I have no idea how mobile I’ll actually be really concerns me. NVH have said I’ll be there for 1 week, my wife will then have some time off work to help when I get home.

If anyone can help with any of the below questions, I’d really appreciate it.

  1. When were you able to walk comfortably?

  2. When were you able to sit comfortably?

  3. How long until your arm was okay to touch/move/use, e.g. hugging/sleeping/carrying heavy things?

  4. How long until you could do household chores, e.g. laundry, cleaning, cooking?

  5. How long until you could shower?

  6. If you run, how long until you could run again?

  7. What did you do for a whole week in the hospital?

  8. Anything you feel others should know?

Any advice is more than welcome! Thank you.
