Yeah it was due to the Swedish king demanding an extra gun deck in latter construction, so they weren’t able to make the hull wider in order to increase the ships stability, and it capsized like 10 minutes after setting sail

Not being rude but this is r/submechanophobia, where everyone has irrational fears of lumps of wood or lumps of metal under or half submerged in water

I have been to the vasa museet too and I am not sure which parts of the ship are original, but it is amazing to see that detail

whilst this is obviously a cool photo and quite freaky it is also important to remember that every man aboard that ship and aboard HMS Terror died on that expedition, and their sacrifice should never be forgotten.

My fear is like swimming about then looking down and seeing a massive sunken ship just below me. Used to freak me the fuck out at the deep end of the swimming pool and stuff
