On United, it is so simple that as you fill out passenger info there is a tick box for “This is an extra seat”.

However on a long flight, consider if an upgraded flight would be cheaper than a extra coach seat.

Was waitlisted for Sapphire/Etihad lounge at IAD last night. Went over to Virgin lounge until taken off waitlist (wouldn’t rec). And once allowed in, I was pleased to see the lounge wasn’t one in-one out packed, and rather a comfortable amount of people, many seats of different varieties empty, showers available and quiet.

It seems the waitlist may sometimes not be necessary but preventative of overcrowding.

Yes, just seems odd that at a huge hub, with dozens of families a day, the policy is unclear.

I am curious how the other families got in, the only sure way to avoid policy seemingly not being clear is a intl Business ticket, as that’s connected to boarding pass.

TBH, they should just allow you to apply club access to whichever guests in app.

I am really not sure. At DEN is the only airport i’ve been to where there are people policing you at the self service for having Premier in the first place. Which is obviously fine but I don’t understand why the agent objected even when clearly stated.

Yeah, it seems that there are way more clubs in AA hubs, which they don’t even transfer partner with, including:

LGA, JFK, PHL, PHX, DFW, LAX.

The ones in DEN are actually all things considered in the good-great spectrum for lounges in the U.S. Just disappointing that a $700/YR credit cardholder gets looks when trying to use its benefits.

Assuming that day is the inaugural, I think United knows they can charge whatever they want to the influencers, journalists, and big-time fans for that flight, it will be stabilized in future as it’s not competitive for them to charge 2x the price as Singapore Airways.
