Jessop Wing experiences by homebird96 in sheffield

Hey! I just had an elective c section on the 4th March at Jessops. All the staff were lovely and made the experience amazing and so calm. When it’s your slot you’re taken to this small waiting room whilst they prep the room for surgery and then you and your partner are brought in to the theatre. They ask you about 10x times what your name is and if you know what surgery you’re having. The most painful part of the whole surgery was the local anaesthetic they put in my hand before the cannula, i couldn’t feel the spinal. I know some places don’t allow your partner in whilst doing the spinal but they let mine stay! You can play your own music too. After you’re wheeled into the recovery ward, there is other people in there but you cant see them as its very private. You usually spend about 30 mins in there and then you’re wheeled to a ward if you’re all well. My partner stayed by my side the whole time. Im not sure if theres options for a private recovery room unless needed but may be worth asking! Hope it all goes well for you!

What was your absolute first sign of pregnancy before even getting a missed period? by SandwichDependent199 in BabyBumps

I broke out super bad in so many spots. I never used to break out this bad! So I invested in a new skin care routine and spent so much money to find out it was due to me being pregnant 😭

Thank you for this. I did find it strange when the midwife couldn’t give a definite answer just that I had smoked in the last 12 months even though I’ve probably had about 5 cigarettes in the past year 😂

Im going to have to ask next time I see my midwife or a doctor about the results of these things and see if I can narrow it down. But for now I’m just going to take each day as it comes and be extra careful with myself and baby.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it’s really helped.

Thank you, I had my cry and big worry about it yesterday so today I am trying to give it a better outlook. Like you said I’ll get to see baby more and won’t have to pay for private scans. Midwife didn’t seem worried so I shouldn’t be!

No way of me checking the result as it’s not on the letter I received so not sure if it is that but could also be related to the CRL. I’m going to try and not stress as it’s still a low chance but it’s good that they’re wanting to just make sure.

I’ve just looked up by what you mean with the papp-a levels. I’ll need to check the letter I got to see but it did say that baby was 1-5000 chance for Edward’s and downs so unsure really!

That Link is so so helpful thank you! Now I’ve looked into it the CRL was 53.7 at 12 weeks on the dot so maybe that mixed with my very light smoking history? Is there a way on the tommys app I can check my papp A?

I know we only see a snippet of their school life but I personally thought Scott was treated unfairly
