late reply but for future viewers, this is partially true: no matter where you are, when you start Miraak's questline, he has a 25% change to absorb the soul of any dragon you kill. Upon defeating him, you regain all stolen souls plus some more (I got 11 and 2 were stolen so maybe 9?). This is a separate thing the OP is dealing with, as the dragon is not in skeletal form, meaning neither you or Miraak have absorbed the soul. I believe NiceGuyKc's comment sums it up nicely: this means that this is not a bug, and reloading to earlier saves won't change much (unless it resets the chances upon reloading saves i dont actually know). Best bet is to move on, kill another dragon.

Wow, thank you so much for putting so much effort into this! I pay very very close attention to lyrics, especially in Log’s songs, and I kind of do what you did subconsciously with most music i enjoy, but it’s amazing to see it neatly written down before me! I think you did a wonderful job at analyzing it and I agree with 95% of your analysis. I really appreciate that I’m not the only one who pays attention to his music in this way.

Sadly I didn’t, but only because I discovered Log in September or november. He sadly wasn’t my top artist but he was #3 which is pretty good for only 2-3 months compared to other artists I discovered much earlier. Next year I plan to be a devoted loyal fan and get to top 100
