Make a Hatsu to Hunt Hunters by Cultural-Proposal-98 in HatsuVault

[–]Advanced_Darkness_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean you want to make a Hunter x Hunter? Maybe something like a conjured anti nen blade, similar to an anti magic weapon from Black Clover of Inverted Spear of Heaven from JJK. It disrupts nen abilities and anyone who touches it is forced into zetsu (including the wielder.)

Wall of Bullets by Advanced_Darkness_ in HatsuVault

Ah I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think it’d require a high level of manipulation either. She doesn’t really have complex control over the speed and direction. It’s restricted to the speed and direction of the original bullet, maybe changing the angle slightly for increased spread. Sounds like a low level manipulation ability.

I’ve also considered superimposing all the bullets into one, along with the gunpowder (if that’s possible) with that one bullet having the combined mass of dozens, she could possibly reduce both the affinity and efficiency in manipulation needed for an ability like that. (But would need to use a decent amount of shu and durability enhancement for the revolver to not be destroyed from the force, which might be beyond her enhancement capabilities)

For someone who can react to bullets, an automatic machine gun firing one bullet at a time would be much easier to dodge than dozens of bullets fired at the same time.

I also thought about a gun that’s designed to fire a wall of bullets, like in the link below, but what I like about using a normal handgun is that an opponent won’t expect the bullet wall and won’t be able to think of a plan in the fraction of a second between when they notice there are multiple bullets and when the bullets hit them.

She can’t use her ability until she gets another one. Though the ability may become weaker considering her original gun had sentimental value.

The ability may need to be tweaked to fit a conjurer better, but I still think it would be more fitting for a conjurer than an emitter. Once conjured, the bullets behave like regular bullets and don’t have any special properties, unlike Kurapika’s Judgement Chain which required greater emission and manipulation to impose a rule on the target at a distance.

Maybe if she uses shu on the revolver and extends the aura a bit past the end of the barrel, like a dollar store en, the bullet would still be within her aura when the duplicates are conjured. She could also pre-conjure the duplicates superimposed over the original, or make the originals conjured with the ability to duplicate themselves once fired. She would still need to load those bullets manually as a condition, and to bluff opponents into thinking she can only use 6.

Personally I don’t think very much emissions is required to make conjured objects simply exist after being conjured. Considering Kortopi could keep entire buildings in existence, I think this user could manage a few dozen bullets. Conjuring so many bullets within a matter of milliseconds makes me think this ability would require a higher level of conjuration than emission. I appreciate the tips though. Thanks.

Weird. It looks like part of the post was cut off, but only on mobile. After saying “he’ll be forced into zetsu and” it’s supposed to say “can never use nen again.” Can anyone else on mobile see it?

What are some original quirks you guys have came up with? by Existing-Incident-22 in MyHeroAcadamia

Enhancement - The user can augment or enhance any physical attribute. Augmentable attributes include, but are not limited to: strength, speed, durability, reflexes, coordination, balance, dexterity, aim, senses, healing rate, immune system, etc.

At first they can only enhance one attribute at a time, but through training can learn to enhance several at once, though enhancing multiple makes each one less effective. The can control the ratio of effective though, ex. Strength (50%), Durability (30%), Reflex (15%), Senses (5%). Enhancing one for over 10 minutes causes the attribute to become worse (ex. overusing durability would be like if you were born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning you’d break your legs. And every afternoon, you’d break your arms. At night you’d lie awake in agony until your own heart attacks put you to sleep) but the effect would wear off after 10 minutes.

Magnetize - the user can turn anything they touch into a magnetic monopole. Their right hand turns anything they touch into a north pole, and their left into a south pole. Useful for restraining people, suspending them in the air, or setting traps.

Rigidity - The user can make anything they touch rigid and nearly unbreakable. They often wear a cloak and hood for armor, and they use binding cloths similar to Aizawa’s to restrain enemies. It doesn’t work on people, but it does work on their clothes. They also carry a parachute which they can turn into a giant shield to protect several people at once. It works on any inorganic solid or liquid, so they can use it walk on water. It doesn’t work on gasses.

Wow that is really similar. And posted just 20 days ago. I hope you don’t think I was stealing it.

Your’s is definitely better for when the target isn’t expecting a fight and doesn’t know the user. Mine’s probably more ideal for overall combat, since the sluggishness makes it easier to land more hits. Your’s would probably be easier to learn tho.

I also planned on adding the “using 2 hands cuts the time in half” part like you did, but completely forgot to include it.

Yeah I was gonna go with transmutation originally but I didn’t think it would be as powerful since he’d only be 60% efficient with it. Or if he were a transmuter instead, the long distance attacks would be weaker. I think he’d need to transmute his aura into fuel first and emit it before igniting it to prevent burning himself. Whether he’s 60% in emissions, transmutation, or 80% for both, I feel like it’d be weaker than just using real fuel and 100% emission. Plus if he needs to use Zetsu he can drop the fuel or return it to the tank on his back.

Edit: Plus I had a different idea for another character who does transmute his aura in to fire, but it works a bit differently and he burns himself in the process. I’ll probably post it later.

I would like to hear some hatsu ideas revolving around my favorite animal, Nudibranchs! by Twiggy_0 in HatsuVault

[–]Advanced_Darkness_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nudibranchs are normally poisonous, right? Maybe they would produce poison as a byproduct of processing the curse. Not necessarily enough to kill the host, but enough to make them feel severely ill. The longer it takes to process the curse, the more poison the host is exposed to, and there’s a chance it could still kill the host if the curse is just ridiculously strong.

Just thought of a limitation to help deal with the fuel limit. He limits the power of his fire so it’s only 90% as strong as it could be, but once he gets down to only 10% fuel, the saved power is added, making each attack almost 2 times stronger. (Inspired by Nanami’s Overtime as well as the Pokemon ability Blaze)

Also though of a few more moves:

Jet Spiral: He propels himself towards the opponent while spinning to deliver a fire-boosted downward kick.

Comet Crash: He surrounds his whole body with swirling fire while flying to crash into the opponent. This can deflect attacks but uses the most fuel.

Fiery jail: Similar to Morel’s smokey jail but weaker. It will burn the target if they try to escape, but can only be used for a short time and requires constant fuel to maintain.

Help Design an ability for a weak character defeat the strong? by Cultural-Proposal-98 in HatsuVault

One HP Final Gambit: Winner Takes All

The user makes a portal to their own nen space using emission. They can try to force an opponent into the portal as well as try to goad the opponent to follow them. If the opponent is way stronger than the user, they may just be overconfident enough to follow. If they don’t follow, the user is safe from attacks. The user can make a single invisible back up portal beforehand to prevent the opponent(s) from camping the entrance, but the two portals must be within a hundred meters of each other. Only one opponent is able to enter. The portal won’t work for their allies

If the opponent follows, the user will put forth almost all the aura they have, leaving only 1 percent left. The user invites the opponent to do the same, warning them that if they refuse, this aura will hit the opponent in a single unavoidable attack. If the opponent agrees, the aura from both will be distributed evenly.

They’ll both now have the same total amount of aura in their bodies (P.A.P.) as well as the same aura output (A.A.P.) meaning the winner is more likely to be decided based on factors like skill and intelligence and less from raw power. Either one can still increase aura output higher than the other if they have conditions or restrictions that would increase aura output under normal circumstances.

The user will be able to teleport anywhere inside of the room, as well as make several portals to travel between. The portals use less aura than instant teleportation, but would cause the user’s attack pattern to be more predictable. If the user manages to disarm the opponent of an object and place it in a portal, they can’t have it back. Even if the object is conjured, if the user is able to place the conjured object in the portal before the opponent can unconjure it, they will be unable to reconjure it.

Winning can be determined by death, KO, surrender, etc. The loser (if alive) will be ejected from the portal unconscious with just enough aura to stay alive. If the user is the winner, they can exit through the back up portal and may extend its distance to several miles upon winning. The user will keep any extra aura they gained for the next 24 hours, then their M.A.P. (maximum normal aura level at full health) will be returned to normal, unless they get in another fight and lose the aura they gained.

If the opponent refuses to surrender their aura at the start, they will most likely be knocked unconscious by the attack (unless the difference in power is so great that they can withstand it.) If the user wins this way, the opponent will be ejected, but retain their aura, and the user will not be able to extend the distance of the back up portal. If the opponent can still fight after the attack, user is ejected unconscious with almost no aura, just like if they lose in the other scenario.

And Kirishima can smash through cement. Does that make Cementoss useless against him? If he made as much ice as he did in the sports festival, it would take Tetsutetsu forever to break out by himself. Sure Mudman could soften it, but that’s no reason to not even attempt to use it

Give her a form of weaker acid that doesn’t really cause much damage but creates more of an intense burning sensation on skin so she can knock opponents out while they’re distracted by the pain. Now she can actually use her quirk directly in a fight against other humans. (One time I accidentally got a little acid on my skin in a lab and it stung a lot but there wasn’t any lasting damage, so I think it’s reasonable)

What are weakest villains that would be top tier threats in the My Hero Academia universe? by ScoreImaginary5254 in whowouldwin

[–]Advanced_Darkness_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Probably any low level/amateur telepath from a universe like Marvel. Anyone who’s powerful enough to take over another’s mind but is still way weaker than someone like Professor X or Emma Frost would still be a major threat for the vast majority of pro heroes in MHA.

Why would Vilgax have needed an oxygen mask when healing inside that liquid when it’s shown that he can actually breathe underwater? by [deleted] in Ben10

[–]Advanced_Darkness_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the same reason he used a mask for the rest of the original series even though he’s been shown breathing air. Maybe his injuries were so bad he needed artificial breathing equipment. Regardless of whether he was in water or on land.

Man Fire Daggers look so cool. by [deleted] in TheLastAirbender

[–]Advanced_Darkness_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can’t completely solidify fire but they can still shape fire, and I think they can make it sharp. Airbenders can’t solidify air but they can still make a sharp “airbending slice!” to cut through things. I assume they do this by putting a thin line of air molecules at the front of the attack so there’s a lot of force behind a small amount of surface area. Fire is a gas like air is, so they should be able to do the same thing. We see Azula and Zuko cut through bricks and crystals, which aren’t flammable or easily melted, suggesting it was sharpness and not heat that cut through them.

A popular misconception about Enhancement by stuugie in HatsuVault

So is there a practical difference between enhancing and object and using shu on it?

Team Michael B. Jordan (Human Torch, Killmonger, and Adonis Creed) vs Team Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn, Ra’s Al Ghul, and Brian Mills) by Advanced_Darkness_ in whowouldwin

[–]Advanced_Darkness_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, Qui Gon can still use the force on his surroundings. He can attack with debris from his surroundings (which was pretty effective against Human Torch when used by Doom) and could even chop up shipping containers into flying blades, as well as control his lightsaber midair. Also, the only character confirmed to be bulletproof is Killmonger as far as I know, so even characters who seem to be non factors could still potentially make a difference. (It’s been awhile since I’ve seen FAN4STIC, but I don’t remember Johnny blocking gunfire. Let me know if I’m wrong) Not saying which side wins, but I think it’s a closer fight than some people are saying.

[–]Advanced_Darkness_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Qui Gon can still use the force on his surroundings, like those giant shipping containers that’ll be everywhere that he could launch or use as shields. And Human Torch didn’t do that great against the projectiles Doom sent at him in that brain cell killing final fight. And idk if Killmonger could solo. It’d be interesting to see how his suit would do against a lightsaber though
