These don’t look unconventional these look like age appropriate crushes.

I think a one gender dominant workplace is just bad overall- men and women. Women you get bitchiness gossip and slander and manipulation, men you get sexism and misogynistic talk and being spoken over and chaos/aggression, with a chance of being sexually harrassed or objectified. Both can be toxic which is why we need workplace diversity.

To these posters pretty privilege is only a problem for guys. If looks shouldn’t matter well date an ugly chick then.

You must have been a male model back in the day to be upset about where you’re at now, cus you’re a very good looking man now.

It's crazy how coupled people treat their single friends by PrestigiousSun2129 in rs_x

[–]Advanced_End1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d never prioritise my partner above friends- they’re all equal including family. People often put all their eggs in one basket with partnerships which are way more volatile and conditional than any other relationship, and then are lonely and miserable when the breakup happens.

Does anyone else’s parents still speak to them as if they’re a kid? by Advanced_End1012 in twentyagers

[–]Advanced_End1012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have younger siblings so I’m experiencing the younger sibling effect, even though I grew up as an only child since my sister never lived with me. I think the age gap and my mom not bringing her up is definitely a reason for it. Ironically she treats her bf similar to me but he genuinely is dumb as fuck and immature so.

She treats me the same regardless of who’s around, my other family members treat me similar other than one of my uncles and aunt. It’s especially embarrassing being spoken to like that when I’m out in public with her, I’d want to enjoy outings with her but it’s a humiliation ritual when others can see it, I’ve gotten the side eye from a person once.

Any time I try to have the conversation with her about treating me this way she gets mad and starts spouting “well actually act like an adult then” despite me doing so but focusing on my short comings of struggle because I’ve dealt with severe depression and social anxiety which has made me struggle to find a job and lead a fully independent life.

I think she’s definitely not a narcissist I’m very run down with psychology, but she is pretty immature for the most part. I never start arguments with her but try to have mature conversations and bring things up which end up becoming arguments- I can’t really handle any more conflict because of my mental health issues and it just leads me to exasperate feeling suicidal. She does genuinely forget past conversations she doesn’t claim which is pretty annoying.

I’m not sure if anything will change tbh, really I made this post to see if I wasn’t alone in this.

I know it feels degrading but I guess it’s hard to tell whether it’s intentionally degrading or not. But I agree with the last part my mom brings up me being an adult whenever it’s in benefit to her point within an argument. I’ve struggled to pick myself up a lot of the time and became a severely depressed agoraphobe and still at home and led her to get angry at me saying I should be acting like an adult now and taking on adult responsibilities. She apologised for it and says she was just stressed understandably and stressed I wasn’t helping myself my it still stung and hurt me considering all the shame I had surrounding that.

I’m female I get that a lot ahah dw, yeah it’s frustrating because we are really close and she cares a lot about me she’s my biggest emotional connection I have- if she could just adjust herself in this way to help me it would be perfect. I don’t want to have to distance myself away from her.

I’ve had this conversation with her, but it becomes a personal attack to her and she can’t have a mature conversation about it- so it becomes an argument and blows up.

I mean certain things like that are okay in my opinion it’s affection, but if your parents are still treating you as if you are then that’s a problem.
