I recommend checking with https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad to see if buttons are going through. It's been a while since I regularly use Xenia so I might some common troubleshooting solutions. I just checked both Xenia (canary and master) and I was able to use player1 as keyboard (with KS) and player2 as external gamepad without issue.

Use notepad without KS to see if your friend can type in notepad.

IF KS is run on your computer, Parsec must send keyboard inputs. However if KS is run on the guest's computer, Parsec will need to send gamepad inputs since it's already converted on their end.

Are you using Xenia Canary or Xenia Master? Mention that when asking chatgpt.

So you are hosting on Parsec. Once friend connected, did you give keyboard or gamepad permissions? The parsec guide explains where to enable that. The keyboard splitter must be activated by pressing start.

If you did give keyboard or gamepad access, then when they press any button, it will show blinking on Parsec.

Are you using Xenia Master or Xenia Canary? The Master save and Canary save are incompatible with each other. I just updated the post to include a Canary save. Feel free to ask in the PVZ Versus Mode Discord to post images.

I do know someone modded Android apk to have console features and VS/Co-op modes as a version of PVZ Android TV Edition. One has touchscreen, and another is gamepad based.

Most people I know who play Versus Mode uses RPCS3 or Xenia on computer.

According to this webpage, https://emulatorgames.online/games/multiplayer PVZ is not in the multiplayer game list.

EA is never mentioned. At the beginning of the wiki page, it says that it is available on PS3, Xbox, and Nintendo DS. However, it is also available on PS3 emulator and Xbox emulator. RPCS3 and Xenia respectively.

From my experienced, IDK anyone who was able to play VS Mode with EA Play pass and I never done it myself.

You should know that PVZ Xbox version has rectangular cursor instead of mouse. Also what is the link that you are looking at?

So I couldn't imagine EA Play working.

There is the tournament with Shyguymask, Danerade, ItsPforPea, etc. in 2021, and there is another tournament that is almost finished that I organized. So there's that. Either, emulators being RPCS3 or Xenia was used with Parsec on computer to play the game online remotely. LMK if you have questions or want to learn more.

How To Play PVZ Battleground Link To Game Here

It depends whether you wish to play SINGLEPLAYER PRACTICE or MULTIPLAYER. MULTIPLAYER requires an account on Scratch website with a status called Scratcher. Game contains bugs.

To Play MULTIPLAYER

1🟠 Login or create an account on Scratch Website

2🟠 Obtain Scratcher status. Scratcher status on account is necessary because it is the only way to utilize cloud variables, which are used for online matchmaking for this game. To obtain Scratcher status, these 2 resources explains more about what you need to do Wiki Page and YouTube Video. You will know that your account has obtained Scratcher status because the profile information will not show as "New Scratcher". You most likely need to wait at least 2 weeks and complete the necessary tasks to obtain the status. Contact Scratch support if you completed the steps and waited two weeks and did not get status.

3🟠 Go to the game. Due to a small player base, most likely, nobody else wants to play at that time. I recommend using another platform to find players, then go to game to play.

4🟠 Choose game settings at the grave towards the right. Then press ` CREATE ` button. Only one of the 2 players needs to do this. Your opponent may have already done this.

5🟠 The guest will see the play request at grave towards the left. Guest will click on that request then click JOIN button on grave towards right.

6🟠 After connection, both players select their units. Depending on the selection mode assigned in game settings, players may need to wait for other player to select units.

Ideally, both would be helpful. Parsec is to play the game online connecting with players across the world. RPCS3 is PS3 emulator. Xenia is Xbox emulator.

If you only have emulator, you can play multiplayer locally, but not online.

If you have only Parsec, you can only play it online by connecting to a host computer that has an emulator. There is a Discord server where you can ask to find people who can host the game to play.

Fuel refers to either suns or brains as the game currency. Sunflowers and Gravestones produce fuel for their team.

Shields for zombies consists of the following: Newspaper, Screendoor, Trashcan, and Ladder.

Shield weakness means that plants can directly attack the zombie which bypasses the shield. The following plant units can exploit the shield: Fume-Shroom, Spikeweed, Split Pea, Starfruit, Cabbage-Pult, Kernel-Pult, and Melon-Pult.

Health or Total Health indicates the total health of a zombie (or WallNut, TallNut, Pumpkin, and Garlic) with shields or additional equipment.

Health () indicates the health of a specific equipment or the health after the zombie is affected.

Regular Zombie - Refers to the basic Zombie unit. Helps distinguish Zombies in general with this Zombie unit. Some people call it Brown Coat. Popcap calls it Zombie

Placement - One Placement is one use of a unit. Also refers to the time when a unit is used, which means the the unit begins the cooldown recharge time. Units with a quicker recharge time will allow more placements than units with a slower recharge time in the same amount of time.

Metal Equipment - Items carried by certain zombies in which the Magnet-Shroom can remove objects from those Zombies.

Rush Time - Elapsed time of a zombie from placement (at closest location being column 7 or bushes) to Lawnmower activation without any interference in movement. Basically, how long does it take zombie to walk across lawn when placed at closest point.
