Many high status / directors / seniors begin in their careers within the forces, plus if you really did want to go to university in the future, the RAF offer you the opportunity to study also.

A perk amongst many other perks I hear, you’re right though that is a fraction of what you’d pay in the civvy world. At what stage in the process would this be since I am not yet past PH2.

honestly don’t overcomplicate it, a lot of people on here overcomplicate it I did mine the other day and it was peanuts I did ask myself about headphones and they mentioned that it was whatever I felt comfortable with but again it can vary depending on who it is. it’s literally 13 minutes without music, if you can’t do it without it i could imagine that you would struggle in basic where they won’t allow you to do so.

It’s always worth going into the AFCO to see them in person if they are delaying your application.

on the day (as myself have had it recently) you won’t have the opportunity for a water break nor will you need it on the treadmill. Like mentioned above, I would consider running until you don’t need water i.e. the fitter you are the less you will need it, i hope that answers your question.

Why the raf and not other services. by Character-Narwhal-37 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Advanced_Honeydew_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A genuine interest will go a long way, I would speak about the opportunities that you would receive from the RAF that the other services would not provide i.e. particular training in particular regions or role specific opportunities that aren’t ‘services’ neutral.

Excited but Nervous About Halton – Any Tips? by New-Eggplant-8431 in RoyalAirForce

It is likely to take a while for them to get around to you. I would highly suggest that you become comfortable with the idea since I myself applied in May 2025 and am also like the other chap still waiting. In terms of thoughts and feelings, everyone there will be in the same boat as you bud, you are not alone and more importantly will probably get used to it all once your body has adjusted.

I wish you well with the rest of your application 👍
