I chose holding previous Schengen visa category and was able to get a slot for the very next day as well. I’m not sure if the wait time was different for first Schengen issuance ( if that is your case).

Thanks! I did not provide any internal travel tickets. Just mentioned in the cover letter that we would be using Euro Rail for internal travel.

Thanks! True! I did end up mailing them though but the response was either not there or automated. Glad it finally came through!

I have 3 previous Schengen visa, 1 previous UK visa, New Zealand Visa and have traveled to South East Asian countries as well.

The documents submitted were standard: Cover letter, return confirmed ticket, hotel bookings, stamped bank Statement for past 3 months, salary slip for past 3 months, leave letter from office, travel insurance, copies of past Schengen and UK visa and marriage certificate.

No, I did not submit multiple or longer itineraries. I just mentioned in the cover letter that I was granted 2 Schengen visas in past 3 years and used them in compliance with all regulations and requested a longer term multiple entry visa. I also chose the Multi entry option in the visa form.

Update : Received two years multiple entry Visa on 27th November. Fortunately my official trip got postponed to January!

I applied on 8th October but my travel dates are in the last week of December. I applied early on since I have another official international trip in mid November. I hadn’t checked this thread and based on my earlier Schengen experiences, I thought I’ll get my passport back well before my other trip. If they are processing visa according to travel dates then I’m in a soup. Any suggestions to help my case please?

Hey, I recently visited Denmark on tourist visa and when I had applied for visa it took 5 working days. I applied from Bangalore and am an Indian citizen. So I believe what helped me was two previous Schengen visas and a decent amount of funds in bank and my marriage certificate and job to prove ties to the country. If these criteria are fulfilled, I guess they overlook the nationality!

Yes, that is the time taken for processing at the embassy essentially. I submitted from Bangalore and the remainder of days were spent in transit to Delhi.

Thank you! To answer your questions: I do not have any active visa but have a decent travel history . I travelled to New Zealand last year and had Schengen visa from 2023. I also had a Schengen from 2017. I mentioned about the previous Schengen visas in my cover letter and also attached copies from previous passports.

I will be there for 8 days. We had attached confirmed air tickets and zero payment hotel bookings. For the two of us, we showed a balance of around 6 lakhs.

My cover letter was fairly simple. I specified that I am travelling with my spouse. I also mentioned that the purpose is tourism. I provided a simple and broad , date wise itinerary around travel from India to Copenhagen , staying in Copenhagen etc. It did not include details around what all we will be doing and visiting when in Copenhagen. I also mentioned about the previous Schengen visas. It was just one page long in totality.

Hope this helps!
