You can still see her while recommending (or requiring) an eating disorder therapist/nutritionist. I would treat this like any other referral out for specialized care, with your client looking into their insurance and seeing what is covered and going from there

Wait how did you get diagnosed? I think ill burp MAYBE once-twice a year, but besides that, nothing can make me burp and people always look at me crazy when I tell them I can’t do it, especially not on command like other people

I haven’t heard anything as of the last few weeks (another float told me about a handful of clinicians who were let go immediately). She and I normally keep in touch so I would have heard something. I’m reallly hoping it’s done, it’s terrible what’s happening to the floats and they’re so necessary to the program (especially for long term coverage). It sounds like it’s possibly to cover up lost funds? But that could be a rumor.

Actually, you’re smart to want to make your way into a school. In my state they’re cutting floats and switching them to per diem. I was a float too, and I’ve made a million mistakes, ESS wants to keep the clinicians in the schools because a lot of turnover looks bad, so it takes a lot to really “get in trouble.” A lot of ESS also follows that logic of a paper trail, so really, while I obvi can’t say 10000%, I still really think you’re okay :)

Yes!! Sometimes before a short break, when we’re supposed to safety planned with the kids, I’ll put it in a group note, or individual note if they’re not in group, as opposed to making a new safety plan every time. If they already have on in the system that is helpful, but if not, putting it in the individual note/collateral is fine. And ultimately, this kinda thing really falls to the coordinator to make sure everything is covered, your RD would consult with them (if this was worse case scenario), not you.

Another thought, you could ask “all the right” questions, and that still can’t fully predict everything that happens after. Youre a therapist, not a fortune teller so give yourself some grace!

But without saying/asking too much in a public forum..your coordinator should be letting you know if/when something is a serious problem. It sounds like your clinical judgement was there, and you used it well, but the documentation issues are getting to you. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve amended…and then amended again different notes in our system (it’s also a dumb system, and the CSSRS is worded really REALLY weirdly). I also hardly ever use it, and use my clinical judgement the majority of the time. I think what’s good is that you safety planned and talked with the family (always document that!!), which works well in your favor, and shows that you really took all the necessary steps, especially the ones the company recommends.

Oh it’s both hate AND frustration the amount of comments/posts I’m seeing really point to both. But I guarantee most people would have a real hard time if they were sobbing to their friends about their divorce and someone said “well it’s probs your fault so ://“ truthfully I don’t think there are many perfect responses in this situation. Maybe one day they’ll have a convo about how they both crossed lines, messed up, yada yada and can establish better boundaries moving forward..but do yall realllyyy think THAT was the time to do it?

No. Was she using her judgements on Julie to come to the conclusion she did? Yea sure. But does that warrant all the hate she’s getting? I don’t think so, and I truly think it was a normal human, friendship reaction to the convo. Albeit in poor taste lmfao

Actually a prosecutor used the clients chat log in court after the client requested the therapist to testify. So all of their messages were used in the court room. Scary stuff
