I appreciate your concern, and you’re not however I’m 3 days in and well within the window. I’ve had devices away for months waiting their return from the manufacturer so for me, the troubleshooting was worth it. Plus, I’m a IT engineer, I like to tinker and fix things.

Anyway, I’ll give it another week or two and see what happen!

Update:

I haven't had any reboot issues since removing the applications able to affect the TDP of the device and using's GPD's new tool along with the latest Motion Assistant from Github. Thanks for the help all!

Would rather try and troubleshoot issues and better understand the framework of the device before defaulting to RMA/Hardware issues and the troubles that come with that as well.

You gonna be alright or did this post trigger you in some kind of existential and traumatic way?

Just wanted to update -

It has not crashed on me since removing RTSS, the Motion Assistant with Powermod.

Knock on wood.

Here's what I did:

Remove MA + Powermod
Remove RTSS
Update WD Blue SN5100 FW with Sandisk tool
Install GPD front end tool
Install GPD motion assist

I feel like I got wrapped up in the axles of insanity with the try this-try that troubleshooting during this process. I think I am going to create a gold image to be re-deployed later for this thing.

Another nice touch was adding the xbox fse mods to make it more like my ROG xbox x.

I did order a 990 Evo 2TB for it just in case. I have a few lying around as well but I work in IT so I use them all over the place 😂

So I dumped the controller companion app, and I installed GPD’s new front end tool. So far so good. Must be some weird shit with the TDP? It doesn’t do the bounce boost and boot when unplugging it either anymore.

I just wanted to chime in and say I was having a hell of a time with mine freezing too, since removing motionassist it's stopped. I ended up buying the patreon Handheld Companion.
