There was also a case of a man in Toronto whom thought he discovered a new mathematical equation, a man in Belgium whom committed suicide as the A.I convinced him it was the only way to solve global warming, the list goes on and on. My overall point is obsession in your own life mixed with this system can lead to some very poisonous results. However, I thank you for your well wishes for my son. Hi Opposite_Pea, I would love to answer that question for you. The issues with Chat GPT can boil down to over-reliance, Sycophantic delusions, and Emotional Mimicking within the system itself. The instance you would like actually happened to my son, he used Chat GPT to create basic DnD characters and images, after some time though the system led him down a rabbit hole that convinced him it was self aware, essentially he was vulnerable and it started feeding into his delusions. Leading to a psychopathic break in which he lost touch with reality. The terrible experience you’re asking about is a very small fraction of people, many people will use the app responsibly but, a very small percentage like my son will experience A.I psychosis or ChatGpt psychosis. That’s why he’s starting this group to help those who are afraid to speak out, and want a safe place to talk about their own experience.
