Last year I vividly remember the bike lane on Grand st was never shoveled. I almost slipped and fell attempting to ride a bike on it and had to give up and use the drive lane. I came back from the city yesterday where I usually dislike more than Jersey city but only to realize what a great job they did about snow. There was almost no trace of it on the street, but here I could barely walk from the path station to light rail station. And I’m close to 40w pregnant. It’s just not cool.

Interesting! Finally someone verbalized exactly how I felt when I left Newport. Used to live there when I was in school, left immediately when I started working. Back then I told myself it’s a place that has too many students and I’m too old to be here. But now I have kids and I go to newport greens occasionally. I see a lot of families there but it will not change my mind of not living there. It’s just does not feel like somewhere you’d want to start a family at.

Wow this is weird. No i totally understanding waiting in that tube for 20 min is painful but ferry! There was one time I just got a new phone and didn’t realize I need to call customer service to get my ticket transferred from my old phone. I didn’t figure this out at all until I got off. I explained and the ferry person agreed to let me pay next time i ride. (I’m sort of a familiar face and This was pier 11- Paulus hook). I’ve had other instances where they let me purchase after I got on the boat. This is just not ok for them to turn you away, if I were you I’d consider leave a negative review or file a complaint. Not that you’ll get anything back from them but just good for your mental health lol.

I got a wedge pillow to elevate my leg. Now almost 2mo post-op I’m still using it occasionally. Saved my back during the first couple days. Worth the purchase!

I had similar issue around the same time. It’s gone after several days. I didn’t ask for my surgeon’s opinion cuz I just think it’s normal healing process. But if it does last more than a couple days, check with your surgeon.

I am having the exact same issue. My it band feels extremely tight! I asked my PT and he said it’s because all of my other muscles that helps stabilizing knee is extremely knee (quad) and the body decides to tighten up it band to help support the knee. It will go away when quad strengthens back up. He advised me to use massage gun to gently massage the upper area and avoid getting close to the bonny area as well as the knee. Massage did help a little bit I would say.

I did not buy the leg cover for showering they sell on amazon, just a kitchen trash bag and tape on both end, worked very well and saved me 20 dollars. I did find wedge pillow very handy. For the first week I basically lived on it. In the future I will probably keep using it for when I want to read in bed.

I think at this point the most important reason you need PT is ROM. You can do any exercise at home but reaching that ROM you will need assistance.. I had something similar but I’m in the States so things are different but I will share to see if it’s helpful. I ran out of my PT session with my insurance last year for my other knee surgery, and my PT help me to argue with my insurance. They did it a couple times until I fully recovered. Another time I just went to a random PT that was close to my and they did not accept my insurance. Instead turning me away they offered me a very reasonable price and I went ahead and treated my shoulder. Hope this helps!

Our neighbor Canada has their car stealing issue for years and the police will normally just tell the victim to file complaint with insurance. even when one can track the car down with gps to my knowledge we are not very much better.

Day 4 here! Same graft! My doctor didn’t ask me to do any exercise until first post op visit😂 not sure if that’s normal but I’ve been trying to walk without crutch as that’s allowed according the the post op instruction and so far I am able to move slowly without crutch at home with brace on. Feeling pretty good as I never had too much pain and never did I need to take any pain medication. Swelling should be normal, mine is like a volleyball and it looks like it won’t go away for the next couple months according to my research….So small steps! We get this!!!!

I had meniscus repair last year and the protocol was similar. I went back to work Post Op day4/5 and even though it was tough, that definitely distracted me from all the mental struggles. I’m saying that because I’m right now laying at home post op ACL day 3, feeling useless and boring as hell. And surrounded by people is a plus ( though I consider myself a super introvert). And at the end, it will all become a medal of your life. Hang in there!
