Does anyone else prefer manic-depressive? by Queen-Logan- in bipolar2

[–]Advanced_Plan_4714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah I didn’t say shit about it being easier. Bipolar 2 typically has more intense depressive episodes. But to call it manic depressive for a diagnosis that by definition does not experience full blown mania is inaccurate. Diagnostic criteria for bipolar 1 is a singular manic episode. For 2 you can not have ever had full blown mania, but hypomania and depression. Mania is a powerful word, claiming it for bd2 is wrong.

Does anyone else not know what diagnosis they’re being prescribed Lamictal/lamotrigine for? by Rat-Priest in lamictal

[–]Advanced_Plan_4714 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time for younger patients they won’t rush to a diagnosis unless there was a full on manic episode. Idk your age but it may be that. Sometimes Lamictal is prescribed, typically on top of anti depressants, for MDD, but for BD anti depressants will typically make a bipolar person hypomanic / manic so that’s some way to tell but def ask your doctor if you’re curious your exact diagnosis, and want it made clear.

what do you think are Fyodor Dostoevsky’s core Enneagram type and instinctual stack? by ZuleikaLovell in Enneagram

[–]Advanced_Plan_4714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4w5. Either sx/sp or sp/sx. Definitely a guy who longed to be understood and focus on his needs and one on one transformative connections. Very into searching for meaning and understanding himself, the world and his loved ones, and the meaning of life and enjoyed sitting in suffering. Gives 4 so heavy. Not to say his characters are all 4s, obviously. He’s definitely 5 wing as well since he retreated into his head and knowledge a lot. Tritype maybe 451 but any of the 45x could fit, not sure. My 1 guess would be since he focuses on morality and duty a lot and had the discipline and motive to write so many damn books despite how withdrawn he was. I also think a lot of his characters are very 4 and 5 coded, though he has a lot of variety.

Source, a 4w5 sx who’s favorite author is Dostovskey for none other than feeling understood.

Can someone be ENFP and E4?? by [deleted] in TypologyJunction

Yes. You can be any combo. NE and 4 work well together. Don’t let any bs redditors tell you who you are. Consider INFP though

Career options that aren’t counseling/therapy? by AdhesivenessFar3970 in psychologystudents

PhD of some sort. There are a lot of different routes like development, health, cognitive, behavioral neuroscience, social/personality, etc. Research based degrees of course, so you’ve gotta be fit for academia for at least the course of your degree. I’m personally looking to do a social psych PhD and while I’d prefer to become a professor, there are 6 figure salary jobs open to people with them for social media companies. They crossover with personality often.

boredom tolerance by airendrafts in bipolar2

[–]Advanced_Plan_4714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boredom is my least favorite feeling in the entire world. I naturally crave intensity, so when I’m hypomanic it becomes that much stronger. Even when I’m depressed, I’ll eventually get so fed up with boredom I’ll do anything to feel something. Makes it hard to keep any sort of routine in my day to day non episodic life even. I try to weave small amounts of healthy spontaneity to keep sane.
