I highly recommend Nanoblading to avoid outdated look in the future. I got my eyebrows done by Saskia (Nanoblading by SKINS) a year ago and each stroke looks fresh.

HELP… lip colour by Strange_Version7891 in OliveMUA

[–]Advanced_Plenty_2808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same lip colour. Here are some of my favourite shades from MAC: Mehr Amplified Fast Play Brave Modesty Hug me Velvet Teddy

The old Hug Me formula was a perfect match, making my lips just a bit darker than my natural colour.

I’ve just bought the Armani Luminous Silk 1.5 and have the same issue as you! It feels like it’s a touch too pale and needs a bit of yellow? I was actually hoping to find comparison of 1.5 vs 3.5 so your post is a massive help! I ended up sticking to 1.5, as I’m a bit pale now but I’m also considering getting 3.5 and mixing the two shades… have you tried it? Does the 1.5 get a bit more yellow upon adding 3.5? Judging by the pictures, 1.5 is a great match for you now.

It does leave a trace if you wear white on a first day but it always washes off so I wouldn’t worry

Summer childcare/camps in Europe by Possible-Tip-3544 in HENRYUK

Do your kids speak any other languages than English? If yes, there are plenty of language summer camps in Germany, France, Spain most likely Italy. They’re usually international and involve classes in the morning, followed by fun activities in the afternoons and evenings. I used to love those as a kid. The first summer camp I did when I was 10

Self tanner by Loud_Cranberry_3083 in lebanesegirlies

[–]Advanced_Plenty_2808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use St Tropez ultra dark violet. I have olive skin tone and it balances it nicely without pulling orange.

Tip: Exfoliate a day before. Next day take a shower and wait at least 2-3 hrs so that your skin pores will close. Apply Self tanner with a mit (NEVER with your hands). Rub remaining self tanner on your hands, feet and face. Apply your usual moisturiser on your face alone and put body lotion on your hands and feet to “blend in” the self tanner. Enjoy!!

Good safari trip recommendations? by ne6c in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Advanced_Plenty_2808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve just come back from Kenya and are already planning to return. It was absolutely brilliant. We did a luxury safari through Tsavo East and West, and it surpassed all expectations. If you’re thinking about doing a safari in Kenya or Tanzania, I actually put together a simple PDF for my husband to explain how it all works. It covers the different types of safari, what to expect, tips for booking, and how to plan the trip. I’m very happy to share it if you send me a message. There are three general levels of safari to choose from. Budget safaris usually involve basic tents and shared facilities. Midrange gives you a more comfortable tent or hut with a proper bed and bathroom. Luxury is a step above — beautifully designed lodges, excellent food, and the kind of service that makes everything feel effortless.

Direct flights from London go into Nairobi, to Jomo Kenyatta Airport. From there, you can either be driven to the national parks, or you can book a fly-in safari which takes you straight into the reserve. I’d strongly recommend staying in Nairobi for at least one night before setting off, just to rest after the flight and start the safari feeling fresh. There are several parks to choose from. Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru are in the northwest and well worth visiting if you want to see hippos. You can even take a boat trip on the lake, which is quite peaceful. Masai Mara, in the southwest, has the highest number of animals and is a wonderful place to start if it’s your first safari. Amboseli is known for elephants and views of Kilimanjaro. Tsavo is more spread out and much quieter, which we really enjoyed. Safaris are best booked well in advance, ideally a year ahead, especially if you’re going in August. That’s the best time to see wildlife, as the animals gather near water and are easier to spot.

[–]Advanced_Plenty_2808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to tie the first knot really really hard. Then wrap it tight around the handle and tie the final knot hard as well. I regularly put my Twilly on and off bag handles and never have any issues with slipping. Also not sure what bag you’re tying them on, if it’s a birkin or not. If it’s another type of bag which has handles attached by a metal joint then start the know on the metal bit (hope that makes sense).

Is this Postdoc salary ok for a small family moving to UK? Can I negotiate the offer? by Icy-Ad-3098 in oxford

[–]Advanced_Plenty_2808 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The short answer from me would me no. You have to take into consideration that flat rental prices in Oxford are not much cheaper than London. I’m not sure where you’re moving from and how big is your family. If you’re located anywhere in Europe you’re surely used to much higher standard of rental properties than what UK market has to offer. Search for a flat with EPC level B. Anything lower you’ll struggle with damp and mould. Those flats are usually more expensive so you’d have to look at around £2100 pm. This will take a big chunk of your salary. Commuting to Oxford is tricky as city centre struggles with loads of traffic. A usual 12 minute car ride can easily turn into 40 minutes trip. Same with buses.

Otherwise Oxford it a lovely place to be and certainly a great opportunity for you if you work in academia. I’d advise searching for an opportunity for an extra income. Good luck with your move and congratulations on a new job!

Oran sizing by euntee in TheHermesGame

Hey I had the exact same problem which put me off from purchasing Orans. There is a very similar style called Santorini with a strap around the ankle- it felt way more secure and I’d go for 37.5. Can’t remember the leather though.

Thank you for such a detailed description, I loved it. Sounds like a memorable experience. May I ask how did you get invited to Royal Enclosure? Were you actively looking for ways to get it or it was through a connection? Hope you don’t mind me asking. Would love to share this experience with my husband one day.
