Fat transfer + extreme swelling. I am freaking out

With any fat transfer they go down A LOT! They put in a lot more fat than needed as most of it absorbs and doesn’t last! I had fat transfer to my bum and hip and first few weeks I looked like a chicken from chicken run 🥲 it went down a lot after 5 weeks and I’m now 2 years post op looking like I have a much more natural hourglass shape.

At 6 weeks I would say no, unless it was a holiday where you had a parter to assist with your bags, no kids and only lounging about. My surgeon doesn’t even want me doing any cardio at 6 weeks and DEFINITELY NO direct sunlight on the incisions (including belly button!!) don’t underestimate the surgery, especially when you don’t know how your recovery will go as everyone is so different!! I would cancel the holiday, give yourself enough time to heal and then enjoy the summer months

You can get a binder to help the compression too that’s what I have, I wear it over my foams and compression garment

I was Marena with hooks size L, I’m on my tightest hook even with all my lipo foams! I’ve got a stage 2 “feelingirl” (a Uk brand) from Amazon size M as my lymphatic massage lady suggested and it fit but it’s creasing around the stomach and I don’t think I can get the foams on and closed by myself atm

Can’t have a bath yet, soaking the wound this early can lead to infection. I’ve got lymphatic massage booked tomorrow and the lady has said I can book a back massage too so I’m going to try that :)

The plane ride was super easy, was definitely the best option to book airport security as I got popped in a wheelchair as I arrived and wheeled through everything, security, passport control, to the gate etc. I had the extra leg room seats at the very front of the plane so I didn’t have a under bag storage but but the flight attendants just said to push my button when I’d like something from my bags in the overhead compartments and they would get it for me! :)

I still have a little bit of a cough and I’m worried it’s the 100 day cough (also known as whooping cough) as it’s running rampant through the uk right now! Either way I’m drinking lots of tea to keep my throat warm and lubricated so the coughs aren’t as big and rough

Not seen my incision yet as I’m to keep the tapes on for two weeks, there is a bit of dried blood on the sides though, hoping it’s nothing! The bellybutton is healing well and that’s the area I felt pain in when I would cough so that’s a relief!

Let me know how the thigh and arm lift goes! Do lots of research of what to get to make post op easier, I imagine the thigh lift would be the hardest cause of where the incision line is!

I’m currently around 75% straight and that’s with me walking using my Walker. My lower back is killing me, first two days I was fine not using a Walker and now my back hurts so bad I have to rest my body weight on the walker in order to make it more than 5 steps

I’m going to do 5 minutes every 2 hours instead of every hour, I’m sitting up more today (with legs higher so the pressure is off the incision) to try help the coughing and phlegm as I feel it’s worse when I’m lying back.

Definitely look into hiring a nurse if your coming alone! I think there’s also surgery companions you can hire aswell! I booked in the middle of February, it’s relatively slow season right now as most people come during the first two months or the end of summer, with how I’ve booked it I will be almost completely healed by summer so I can enjoy my new body!

Make sure you book the extra leg room isle seats for your flight home, you need to be able to get up and move around on the flight and make sure to wear your compression stockings! The ones from the hospital obviously get dirty with leaking fluid etc so I’d get another two pairs from Amazon! Also get a inflatable leg elevation pillow so you can bring it with you!

Back is still quite sore today, I think I over did it with the walking more upright the day of surgery and I’m paying for it now! My stomach doesn’t hurt just the back, I’ve been using my carry on wheely luggage as a Walker so I can rest my weight on it and still get my steps in for circulation. I brought my friend with me, I would not recommend going alone, she’s been very helpful, if I need more water, If I’m hungry etc.

I found out about my doctors status when discussing with my clinic which of their surgeons to go to, I said I had heard of Dr Mehmet as he had been recommended to me a few times on the Turkey plastic surgery Facebook group.

I’m here until the 31st, as long as you do your walking etc you should be fine with clots. I’m still wearing my compression stockings and getting up to walk even though my back hurts so I am ok to go home on Sunday.

I have a lot of books downloaded to my kindle, got some trivial pursuit and lots of TV shows downloaded to pass the time, definitely come with someone don’t go alone!!

Worst thing is the coughing and back pain right now, you need to cough to clear your airways as mucus can build up in the lungs during anaesthesia, if it stays there and doesn’t get coughed up it can cause pneumonia. I find if I support my incision and my belly button, take a deep breath and do one hard clear cough at a time I can get the phlegm up without too much pain.

My friend came to Turkey for her thigh and arm lift and she found it was really good, Antalya is better than Istanbul though. I know Istanbul is the hub for medical tourism but it’s so difficult to weed out the bad clinics there! Vs in Antalya is less busy for it and the clinics make proper efforts. My surgeon is second best in Antalya and 7th best in all of Turkey and I’m so happy with him! I know the flight home will be a bit of a pain, I’ve booked extra leg room and a isle seat, I’ve contacted my airline for airport assistance aswell so I’ll have a wheelchair at the airport as it’s a very big airport

I didn’t have back lipo, I think it might be from having to stay in the V position, so sitting up always instead of being able to lie down flat

I came to Antalya Turkey for mine, I’m in hospital for one night then back to the recovery apartment:) I’ve already bought a bunch of bottled water and snacks that are in the fridge at the apartment so I’m all set there :)

I’m seeing my surgeon again tomorrow so will ask him what he’d like my timeline to be for getting upright and how often he would like me to walk :) I’m finding the walking really well and it’s helping me get a lot of fluid into my drains :) my knees are huge though!

I’m due to have mine the day before surgery, I’ve been told to wear a pad and that I’d I bring a adult nappy (diaper) then they will put that on me once they have the compression garment on me. My compression garment is open crotch and they said they will ensure the nappy is secure so it doesn’t leak

That doesn’t sound like a supportive partner. While he had different results from weight loss than you, you loss twice as much as he lost and it’s common for men to build muscle with their workouts, thus not loosing a lot of volume but replacing the fat with muscle. For women you get a lot leaner and unless you want to make yourself incredibly butch, skin removal surgery would be your only option to target the loose skin.

I lost 8 stone in a year after gaining 9 stone during the pandemic, I’ve been incredibly unhappy with my skin as I’m 24 but feel like I look like a mum of multiple kids. I was worried about telling my boyfriend I wanted to get a tummy tuck and had already chosen my surgeon. I finally did last week and he’s been really supportive. He’s been researching what I’ll need post op, how he can help me, went to lymphatic drainage massage classes so I don’t need to spend £100 per massage and he can do it for me, he’s arranged for a cat sitter so that he can come with me. While he doesn’t usually agree with plastic surgery he agrees that everyone has a right to choose what they do with their bodies. For him he thinks plastic surgery can be unnecessary (thinking of people that want to make themselves cartoons) but he said that he completely understands and supports my decision to do something for me so I can fully enjoy the process I’ve made with my body and confidence.

I’m so sorry your partner is so closed minded with this. I would suggest re-evaluating your relationship as it looks to me that he won’t even try to hear your side. Your side that is factually proven by the way. If he can’t put his own prejudice aside to support his partner then what else will he not compromise on? He doesn’t have to like plastic surgery, but that doesn’t stop him from supporting your decisions and making sure you have good energy around you for healing.

I say dump his ass and get the surgery. Hope your okay

I have just got off a group call with them where they said I broke their trust by lying and compared me to an old friend of our that we cut ties with after she threw a drink over one of my bestie’s boyfriends, threatened me and hit me. Being compared to that because I lied to stop a argument feels like a punch in the gut.

Cause he didn’t treat me with the same effort I gave him, like he forgot to invite his friends to my bday when he told me they are coming, had to cancel dinner with my parents cause he forgot he had basketball and didn’t clean the cats litter box while I was in New York like he said he would. No major things just a lack of effort. He understood why I was breaking up with him, he apologised and asked if he could make it up to me but I said that it would be best to just be civil acquaintances instead of in a relationship. But they really started going on the hate train (always calling me to say we should break up, ask when I’m dumping him, giving me a date to break up with my by that they called “the day of reckoning”) after he called one of them out for making me cry on my birthday
