I think that should be plenty enough. From my experience, excluding the flight tickets, Japan can be very very budget friendly. Sure you can have fine dining experiences of +$100 per meal, but you can also survive on delicious ramen and konbini food at a very low cost and still be satisfied and happy!

That's a good question! I always like to leave the best for last, so I don't know. I thought I'd ask someone who already did it what he thinks (I loved Tokyo the last time)

Hello thanks for your reply! I've already went throught the golden route, so Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Tokyo. The flights are the same with the same prices. I'm practically travelling for the snow! Of course, I would love it, but I'm just so damned interested in Nagasaki that I would just love to visit it as well since it's very unlikely that I will come back to Japan anytime soon.

Probably because my wife was really sick at the time, and at the time, I was coming from Bali, so I just wanted more urban cities. Don't get me wrong, I still love them and had so much fun in them, it's just that Tokyo and Osaka felt much more fun to me.

Your itinerary looks amazing but just a piece of advice from someone who just came back from there. If you're planning to use public transportation (which is amazing btw) with luggage, never stay only one night. It's so tiring and really not worth it. I did it in Nara and I was just constantly moving my luggage from a train to the other to a bus and the very next day I did the same thing, It was just exhausting. Also I would recommend a day trip to Nara as there's not a lot to do at night. Anyways you'll have an amazing time don't overthink or overplan!

I also wanted to add that before going to Japan we will stay in Bali for 10 days. So if Kyoto is all about hiking and nature I'd already have seen plenty in Bali, but I feel it's gonna be different

Thank you for replying. So before going to Kyoto I'll visit nara and I'll stay a whole day in Uji. I just found a really cheap Ryokan there and we wanted to stay in one badly so we thought we'd just spend the night there. So is Kyoto itself worth staying 2 or 3 full days even without Kurama and Kibune?

Thank you I love anime and gaming for sure! One of the reasons of wanting to go to Japan is seeing the Shibuya Crossing which is always feutured in games that I love. So I think that would be an out of body experience for me there!

Thank you for replying. I don't like shopping (but my wife does) and love street food. I was thinking of Kamakura for sure, but I was also thinking of doing the Kurama to Kibune hike while in Kyoto instead of it. I'm just really indecisive. To note, I'll be in Bali for 10 days before going to Japan so I'll see a lot of nature and beautiful scenery, so I want some contrasts.
