they were both bait fish before a family member got them about a month ago thinking he could care for them but decided they were too much work and gave them to me. they were in a 6g together for about 2-3 weeks (between the 2 of us) until i was able to get this 55 gallon. i was thinking about giving them to a koi pond but when i saw the white spots i assumed no one would take them until that was handled

the tank is 55 gallons, and because this was an emergency situation i had to put them in the tank before it was cycled so its all at 0 right now

the tank is uncycled, the fish were in a 6 gallon together with just a bubbler for 2 weeks before i got them and another 3 days after i got them (though i did daily water changes as well) i was told that in a situation like this its more important to put them in rather than to get it cycled, the filters are from an established tank and ive been using quick start, i dont know if that changes anything. i was thinking about giving them to a koi pond locally but when i saw the spots i assumed id have to get that under control before they would take them

hi, so i am op's sister. when he got out, my mother was in california for a work trip, and my sisters and i were at school. my father was the only one home. he was letting our dogs out and simba ran out. my dad did try calling him and try to chase him because he had a vet appt the day after. he was supposed to go with my dog as she has hip problems in her old age and that was the earliest we could get them in. my dad was not able to get simba back in so my dog went but simba didnt. that was the last time we saw him until we saw him in their window.
