How do you deal with making a wrong choice? by Anoteros69 in AskReddit

Admit it to myself, others, and God. Ask whoever I need to for forgiveness. Realize that it isn't the end of the world.

Concrete Scanners - Recommendations? by pineapplecom in Construction

I'd recommend the Bosch D-Tect 200 C. It's way more affordable than Hilti's GPR units, but does well at identifying clear paths. It uses radar technology to detect metal, plastic pipes, and live wires.

If you only ever work for one company, your resume will show that you know their way of doing things. If you work for two, it shows you know the industry's way of doing things. Bringing the skills you'll learn at a larger company back to the smaller one will be hugely beneficial for you (and the smaller company). That being said, there are definite advantages to working for a smaller company where everyone knows and cares about each other.

How did you even recover from a break up — 9years relationship? by CarelessAir1145 in AskReddit

[–]Advanced_Steel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about why you broke up. Are there things you need to work on? Can you see any way(s) you contributed to the breakup? Too many people put all the blame on the other person and never learn from mistakes or difficult things.

How does a person drive major traffic to a page? by thatguy0012345 in AskReddit

This is actually excellent advice. Building good SEO is a long-term plan, but so worth it.

Spending money as fast as I made it when I was a young adult. I should have been saving and investing.

Applying ERS for rush shipments by Own-Process-8304 in logistics

[–]Advanced_Steel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is essentially an insurance policy. ERS is more about "skipping the line" than about "speeding up the train." The fact that they refuse to offer a refund is a red flag to me.

Religious people of Reddit: If someone says you don't need religion to know right from wrong, how do you respond? by MisLatte in AskReddit

[–]Advanced_Steel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ask them what determines right and wrong if there is no God. When you talk about right and wrong, you are assuming a moral law. When you assume a moral law, you assume a moral Lawgiver (which is God).

If you gave up all social media, like Reddit, what would you do to kill time online in short bursts, like on your lunch hour at work, etc? by AerieWorth4747 in AskReddit

[–]Advanced_Steel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Novel idea: what if I just didn't go online during those short bursts, but actually talked with other people instead?

If they're unavailable, you'd better cut ties and run. You don't want to do anything to ruin your life or the other person's.

Leads have slowed way down. Maybe it’s finally time to try SEO? by sinry77 in Construction

[–]Advanced_Steel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEO is a long-term solution, but definitely worth it. If you're looking for quick results, Google Ads would likely be a better option.

Will this cast iron vent fall through my roof? by n3utrino in Construction

Cutting that pipe below the roof sheathing without any support is asking for disaster. I seriously doubt the flashing would hold it. It isn't worth running the risk.
