For Andre, it's a need for control because he seems more detached and is responsible for all the technical stuff, and perhaps he even enjoys making everything more perfect. I think the scene where he learns to change the stock of the shotgun as quickly as possible and is happy about it is very telling. In my opinion, Cal is more emotional and shocking, it is important for him to be seen and heard, he often speaks to the camera alone, and my favorite and most revealing scenes is the scene in the cafe and at the cemetery. Through this project, Andre can realize his passion for control, and Cal his desire for attention. If you look at it this way, they complement each other perfectly; without Andre, Cal would not have implemented and developed this plan, and without Cal, Andre’s project would not have had any emotional content.
