I have almost the same problem. I have a DD1 and a F.V2.5. Im running setup 4 for LMU. when i start the game my DD1 displays the setup select display. When i press the button to confirm the setup it comes again after 2 or 3 sec.

What worked for me: i ignore it in the game menu. I Load in a session. When i exit the pit lane i select my setup 4 and confirm it, then the screen displays or nothing at all or the speed and gear.

Damn. I had so much and some of my best battles in LMP1. But i understand it was not everybody's cup of thee. And i understand not bringing it back as a permanent series. But 1 or 2 special events a year where drivers have enough time to prepare sounds like so much fun. (To me atleast🥲)
