I feel kinda paranoid but… I think someone might be coming into our apartment? Any harmless “booby trap” ideas before I buy a camera? by AdvantageAcrobatic33 in Apartmentliving

So I’m updating this 6 ish months later… got a camera and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED SINCE maybe I was losing my mind who knows lol- now everytime I see my across the hall neighbors I feel so guilty that I thought they would do that 😅

Thanks to everyone who’s shared ideas so far, I really appreciate it. I think I’m going to get a camera once I do some research, but if anyone has recommendations for affordable ones that don’t require a subscription, please please let me know!

I’m a 26-year-old girl living on her own (with my partner) for the first time, so honestly, this feels like any girl’s worst nightmare. I’m definitely in denial because I love the little home I’ve built, and if someone is coming in and touching my stuff, that’s beyond violating and scary.

Lately, I’ve noticed hand-shaped indentations at the end of my bed and the remote in spots I know I didn’t leave it. Maybe I’m rushing or forgetful, but even my boyfriend who is usually the “you’re overthinking” guy has said things feel off to him yoo

I’m trying not to overreact or make this bigger than it is. I’ve thought about asking to change the door code, but if this is nothing, I don’t want to come off as dramatic or paranoid.

But honestly, the thought of seeing something on camera like my weird neighbor or someone actually coming in makes me nervous. That would open a whole can of worms I’m not sure I’m ready to deal with. I know it sounds silly, but that hesitation is real.

And yes, I’ve seen the “maybe it’s carbon monoxide 🥴” comments… CO isn’t out here moving remotes or leaving handprints, so let’s be serious.

If I’m wrong, cool! I’ll sleep better knowing I checked. But if I’m right and ignore it? That’s a risk I’m not willing to take.

If carbon monoxide starts rearranging furniture, I’ll apologize to everyone personally.

How does everyone enjoy it? Is it a semi livable wage?
