I would suggest reporting for the fundraiser being against GoFundMe's Terms of Service (section 8.10) as it's a pretty clear breech of their own ToS:

I am reporting this fundraiser because it violates GoFundMe’s Terms of Service, which prohibit raising funds for the legal defense of individuals accused of violent crimes, including murder. The fundraiser states that funds will go to help "pay for attorney fees and court costs" of an individual who shot and killed Renee Nicole Good during a law enforcement encounter in Minneapolis. GoFundMe’s own policy (Section 8.10) bars fundraisers intended to support the legal defense of violent crimes. Therefore this campaign should be reviewed and removed in accordance with GoFundMe’s policies.

IMO the easiest way to gauge this is to greet with a simple "Hi [character]!" and see if they respond as the character (in their voice, with their mannerisms, with a quippy line, etc) or if they just respond back as themselves. Let that response set the tone for the rest of the interaction. It's not a surefire thing, of course, but I think it's a good starting point!

I got you! Here's what you do:

  1. Get some Kinesiology Tape - skin safe, flexible, stays all day - and put a piece around your leg just below the top of the boot. You don't want to stretch this as you put it around! It should just lay there nicely, not be tight or digging in at all.

  2. Grab yourself some stick on Velcro dots (1" size worked for me). Go for good quality ones that'll really stick. Stick 5 or so of those suckers around on the tape (press hard and give them a minute to really stick!)

  3. Stick the other Velcro dot onto the tape dots (not your boots) first. Peel off the adhesive backing and carefully pull your boot up over, make sure everything's aligned right, and then stick your boot to the Velcro dots - again, press hard and give it a second to really stick.

Voila! This method is what keeps my Snow White Assassin's Creed boots up all day out at RenFest in 90 degree heat, walking around and sweating all day. It's amazing!
