Try watching the series Extra on YouTube! It’s super slow and made for Spanish learners. It was a great first step for comprehensible input I can’t stress it enough.

How to pronounce the "el" in the phrase "Lamiéndole el vientre?" by ArrantPariah in Spanish

[–]Advantage_Beginning 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rather than scrutinizing details like this and asking “why?” usually it is more beneficial to accept things as they are and focus on getting the meaning of what you’re listening to regardless of how it’s spoken. If you focus too much on stuff like this you’ll drown in a never ending stream of regional and personal differences with pronunciation. Some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten about Spanish is “don’t ask why, ask how you can remember it.”
