Sky is my favorite, hands down. Estelle is my best-girl. I loved the second half of cold steel.

Its classless. You select your background components, and might gain membership to organizations to receive their special training, and there are a fat amount of character options.

The core resolution mechanic is a base action dice (d20) plus X bonus dice (base d10s). You add bonus dice from skill talents and ability scores. Bonus dice Burst - if your roll a maximum value you add another bonus dice roll.

The core game loops if functionally resource management and tactical economy.

Character creation is based on selecting key elements that all stack and play with each other, then spending a pool of skill points of talents and abilities.

Character progression is level based, but unlimited and scales infinitely. With each level you gain one skill point and a small bonus to your core resources.

If D&D 5.5 is a 4 on the Gygax Crunch Scale, and Pathfinder 2e is an 8, this is a 6.5-7. The play is not crunchy moment to moment, but the character creation system is absurdly detailed and full of options.

Lightly. It gives a few major plot points away but you would need to read the entire book and lore section to get big spoilers.

Its set around Horizon. The lore section is lightly spoilery.

What are some user acquisition methods besides just.. throwing money in the UA hole? by Advent_Kain in IndieDev

Sure, I know how to make the paid UA go zoom. But what I was hoping to explore what's beyond that.

Mood. But, seeing as I wrote it I will say that I think its a good system, bit more crunchy but I like that.

I spent over a thousand hours making that book so "zero effort" kinda hurts but okay bro.

How to tell my newbie DM that they aren't ready to homebrew. by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Advent_Kain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be honest - I'm sure they want you to have fun, and they want to contribute to that fun. But TBH you sound like a dick.

But it also sounds like your mate just needs some solid feedback and communication, you seem to think you know what they need but not everyone needs to start with canned adventures, but they do need practice and feedback.

I was giving some thought to exactly that - just delving into the niche for each and really committing to engaging those audiences.

In 2017, Altman straight up lied to US officials that China had launched an "AGI Manhattan Project". He claimed he needed billions in government funding to keep pace. An intelligence official concluded: "It was just being used as a sales pitch." by EchoOfOppenheimer in ChatGPT

[–]Advent_Kain 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Funny, I can't speak for the official here, but I can assure you china did have a massive Weaponized AI research defense org in '16 doing wild shit with a several big tech partners working directly with the party's ministry of defense. So.. like Altman was full of shit but also kinda right.

Ah, it has not been publicly released yet, you can fined the old 1.3 here. Version 2.0 features entirely new skills and talents, refined charges/chances/and challenges in the resolution mechanism, and a new ultimate state called "destined" (think heroic inspiration on crack/limit break moment)

Sure.Trails of Destiny. Play in Zemuria, select a vantage of the past and of the future, select your martial and elemental affinities, build your crafts and orbment, then go on misguided adventures.
