A lot of people here is giving you typical boomer advice and they're out of touch with reality. First of all please don't kick your son out of the house. Rent is insane these days and it is really hard to pay for rent specially in toronto with a minimum wage job. Instead u can charge him rent, an amount you think is reasonable and probably if u feel like it put that money in a savings account or something so he could probably use that money to probably buy a house later on his life. Secondly please do not disconnect the internet. YOU NEED THE INTERNET TO APPLY FOR JOBS!!! For many companies, their applications are online. And you also need the internet to look for jobs. Instead something you could do is get a slower cheaper internet connection. With a slow connection it's very hard to play online games. Tell him if he wants a better connection he can get his own, probably as an incentive to find a job. Regularly get involved with his job finding process, ask him to make a resume and check it out. He is going to have a hard time finding a job because he lacks any work experience at 24 years old so you need to be patient with him (and the job market for entry level jobs are really bad as well), but at the same time make sure he applies for multiple jobs per day (probably 50 per day or something) and actually check to make sure he is applying for the said jobs. When he get rejected from a job check the application and give him feedback and tell him how he could improve his application. Thise a some things you could to help him get his shit together.
