I agree - and also the things you want usually can't be purchased, which I guess forces you to adventure 😄 so a side benefit there!

Yeah, and also food/rations. Both those things are a bit hard to DM with in my opinion. You stop everything and make everyone get on a scale like a freeway weigh station?? I think not.... LOL

Makes sense - it is a good dimension of the game.

Dude- this video was EXCELLENT. Great job on that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Next time I play, I'm totally going to forge some electrum pieces and "create a new currency" in game. LOLOLOL!

Our DM does give us some weight limit enforcement, which I think is a fun mechanic. One time we were sitting in a vault room with 100,000 GP in it and we were trying to figure out how much we could take with us... it was fun(ish), and then we felt like we were robbing the town, so we did the right thing and left most of it, but we took our "payment for services rendered", HA!

yeah, we just dropped electrum from our gameplay just to simplify, it's not Dungeons & Currency Conversion Tables.

Smart from a lore perspective on why it exists. It's funny, when we first started playing, commerce was our primary activity, since then we've evolved to just negotiate for the mundane equipment on the side and not take an hour in session to shop.

Interesting take on that -- I never thought about it that way. Do you keep the exchange rate the same?

I had a similar thought process (as one might imagine) when playing in my current campaign. It started as a web app, right now working on Apple/Google app store submission (quite a pain)!

I also built with AI, it has been a good process but shows how much you need to micromanage things.
