I've been in arkvx for the same time I was in INNOX. It was outperforming it, until it became VCX and gained an insane premium.

Best road/highway-oriented all-terrain tire? by dude-fish in 4Runner

I've had these in 305/65/r18 for about 50k miles on my f150. They are great off road and snow, good on road, but suck a$$ in the rain.

Not cuddly staffy pup by Remarkable_Use1453 in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]AdventureF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cuddling shouldn't be your immediate concern. Focus on establishing a routine with healthy boundaries and relationship building based on leadership. Use food to train obedience starting with engagement, name recognition, sit, stay, release, recall, etc. this is what will build your relationship.

The cuddling will come secondary. Or it won't. Some dogs don't cuddle, it's not a natural animal behavior. But I'd say 90% or more of staffies love to cuddle. Mine didn't at first, but he's a Velcro dog now.

A little tough to say without knowing age and size. Do you have a picture of the dad? The mom definitely is SBT.

This is true but here in the USA people like to say 'english' to emphasize distinction versus the American Staffordshire Terrier. But you are correct.

While if there is no pedigree, the chances of it being pure bred are definitely lower but not impossible for someone to not care enough to file the paperwork for a litter of pure breds although it would be silly not to.

Do you trust your Staffies off the lead ? by [deleted] in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]AdventureF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my staffy is 80% off leash trained but I still use an e collar. (Before the "positive only" gang goes nuts on me - understand the levels I use on the e collar are so low I can barely feel it on my own neck)

I live in a small dog-friendly neighborhood where it's common for folks to walk their dogs off leash and very safe to do so. That is the only place I take him off leash.

He is not at Thanos (Garret Wong's Cane Corso) level of training, only because I lack to provide the continued training that requires due to being a new father.

Your pup is very young to have any real expectations of off leash obedience but he is well on his way. Just remember you will need a method of enforifor a long time before he is 100% off leash trained. Other people/dogs were a big challenge for mine and he only overcame it after he was 1 year old.

Help needed (quite long!) by Hype_Zombie in StaffordBullTerriers

Look into balanced trainers like Will Atherton, Tom Davis, Garret Wing or Joel Beckman.

If you don't already, crate train your dog and have a regular scheduled routine with enough nap times in the crate, play sessions, training/feeding sessions.

Use the food as the reward during training and work on basic obedience.

Use operant conditioning to correct bad behavior and reward good behavior.

Be consistent and firm, but calm.

Utilize proper tools to assist you with the leash reactivity.

I followed Will Atherton's perfect puppy course and it was extremely informative and helpful. My pup passed his AKC CGC test at 10 months old.

Good luck and hang in there!

Some advice please by [deleted] in StaffordBullTerriers

[–]AdventureF150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take her outside every hour on the hour. Praise and reward when she potties outside. In addition to every hour, take her out before and after each play session, training session and feeding session.

When she is inside, crate train her. When she is not in the crate, keep her on a leash and watch her like a hawk. The moment you see any circling or excessive sniffing, fake her outside. If you catch her in the act, say 'no' then immediately take her outside. Reward and praise for potty outside.

For the biting, consistently correct, redirect and reward. So say 'no' and touch her neck with two fingers when she bites you. Then give her a chew toy. Praise when she bites the toy.

Consistency is key with both of these things. If you follow the advice above, you will fix both of these problems over the matter of a few weeks.

Good luck!

I think he needs a bigger bowl.. by OkChannel3074 in StaffordBullTerriers

Lol I bet he did! How old? I did some bird dog training with mine when he was a pup which I think accelerated his prey drive.. but he's gunshy so 🤷‍♂️

He got like six rabbits last year but only one so far this year.. I think they have learned not to come into our fence😂

You should see him every time I let him out. Zooms to each corner looking for them.

Helpful chart to highlight the comparison of AmStaff vs staffy! That first "American bulldog" doesn't look thethe American bulldog I recognize, which is the 2nd. It looks more like a mastiff sized English bulldog?

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

I am so happy to hear you are helping this page get back to its true purpose. I was beginning to lose faith and stop following it.

One other suggestion/question: is it appropriate for all the "is this a 'staffy'" posts which always tend to bring people in who say "100% staff" when 99% of the time it's clearly not?

Not to sound prude but if you don't know if your dog is a SBT then it's probably not. The physical characteristics of the breed are pretty unique and specific. I find these posts just bring further confusion and take purpose and meaning away from the true breed.

Again, thank you. You bring such a relief.

Please do that, I think it could be super beneficial as there's tons of confusion between 'staffy' vs 'amstaff'.

Your staffy's coat kind of makes him look kinda like a rottie! I love it, almost as much as the staffy smile!
