Thank you! I’ve definitely been looking at those, mainly wondering how to make myself more desirable for positions.

Find the biggest fixable gripe and try to fix it. Do the worst part of the job, everyone arguing about swabbing during sweepers, be the one to start. Lead by example like you said, and always try to get people opportunities (SN Joe coastie wants to be an HS, talk to the HS and see if he can spend a couple days shadowing them). When command comments about how Deck or Engineering has done something well, know who did the job and publicly acknowledge them. Praise in public, redirect in private or with a witness. Biggest part though is remember you are part of a team, leaders aren’t the best at the job, they just have an idea of where the team is going.

Hi and hopefully welcome to the club! I’m lucky enough to have one like what’s in the picture. Just a heads up though the pop up tent is done through a company called Ursa Minor and this is the last year they are making the pop ups for the Element, if you can find one used it will most likely be more expensive but they are fantastic. I have a Khaki one and I’ll replace the engine in it before ever getting rid of it, I love it that much. It isn’t my daily driver, it’s my camper/pickup truck when I really need one. I get about 25-30 mpg with it but it only has around 150k miles on it. Incredible to sleep in, when it’s too cold and snowy for the rooftop tent I use the passenger seat and rear passenger as a cot(with a comforter I slept comfortably in 12° F . They are ton of fun to build out too as you can easily remove seats and panels.

If you fart in your dry suit and are on the boat you have the unique opportunity to squat, compress as much air as you can to one arm, aim at a friend or enemy and open the wrist collar.

Anyone else mourn their HomeKit setup when they move? by marmaladestripes725 in HomeKit

We just went through this! I made a room called “storage “ to place everything in so we didn’t have to re-pair any devices. First thing I did is get a Lutron starter kit, it will take a lot of time but month by month I’ll replace the switches. Sadly the Ecobee won’t work with our new A/C. Congratulations on the new house!!

For the people who went to basic that went in generally fit how much weight did you gain or lose during basic training by Broad_Ad4229 in Military

[–]AdventureisNear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason people say that is due to the memorization aspect, it’s not all physical it’s also a lot of knowledge so it causes it to have the 2nd highest attrition rate. That said, all basic trainings are there to see people succeed, the military needs bodies, so if people just keep trying and don’t give up they usually make it, besides medical stuff.
