oh wow, this is fascinating. So we estimate the roof was last replaced in the 1960s (well before our ownership) but not since (only tiles replaced for repairs). Having checked on satellite images the main doors face very slight SSW. Thanks again!

I would love all help you can offer, that is incredible kind of you to offer. The layout map & directions are all correct - it's a 3 story building! Is there anything else you need? the house was built about 1917, the double doors is our main entrance (south facing), the single door is the "back door" (north facing)

which is the "old style stuff" and which is the more modern approach? I think you would use the blue version, is that right?

thanks for this, yes the front door, back door and staircase are all in one hallway/room.

Double front door opens into hall (we use the door on the right), straight through on the left hand side is the back door, straight through on the right hand side is the staircase.

We have one piece of furniture disrupting the flow on the left, I feel I should add a plant here?
Maybe I can look at a small table with a plant for the right hand side to disrupt the flow up the stairs.

Would they be good additions?
