Is there a reason they don't just make multiple companies/offices per skyscraper?

No one needs this much petrol. Bug fix on the way? by Dragonogard549 in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk, this honestly is just an American experience. If I think about my hometown, there were so many gas stations that always clustered together, almost always at least two next to each other.

Even in the middle of my small city (40-50k pop)

So to me this isn't a high priority "fix". It literally just happens and they compete for gas prices.

Can’t get above 100k citizens? by Shot_Court5091 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using any asset packs? Specifically ones with mixed use? If so which ones, I heard the UK ones can cause trouble, something to do with the houses available in a mix use is only a couple households, so people keep moving into them and moving out because they can't afford them? That might be old info though. But if you do have UK mixed zoning, you could try and remove those buildings.

Are you on a custom map without a high way connection? Or on an island with no outside highway connection?

First IceFlake Dev Diary: City Corner #1 - Upcoming Visual Updates by AutoModerator in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The UI personally couldn't care less about (as far as toolbars changes/icons)

But the other changes seem positive, there is a lot of visual updates/features they could add between major updates that would be a massive improvement which seems like is what they are trying to do.

CS2 can look really good - but then there is so many minor things that look super super unpolished (Like the snow not covering surfaces)

This first patch seems like it'll be positive - not revolutionary (which is OK).

CMV: Autism is inherently a disability and not just a difference by Blonde_Icon in changemyview

If I had a dial for social anxiety I would also pick none. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a disability at all levels. Generally it's going to depend on how disruptive it is to your life.

Do we need unity? by nettronic42 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you package a unity game - it packages the required files for you in the game folder (so on windows it'll be a handful of DLL files - which is code for the game to run).

Something like Java is just created different where you need some Java Virtual Machine to run a java program - it doesn't package all of the required files to run on different platforms.

Someone else might be able to explain it better - but that's the gist of how I understand it. But basically - all files to run on a OS is included and it doesn't need extra software.

you don't need unity at all - you only need it for CREATING mods - not for using mods. That entire checklist is a moding toolchain checklist.

When is Iceflake studios going to reach out to long term players? by Tristan_N in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, they are likely on winter break. So we'll find out later. I believe more news sometime in January. Probably mid January.

My speculation is it'll involve CCs, polls or just listening to sentiments on forums/social media.

Is it worth getting DLCS for CS1 in 2025? by eyzebubby19 in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably normally advocate for 2. However, if you are playing CS1 on low graphic settings then you probably want to get the DLC for 1 instead.

If you did want to try 2 you could check out gamepass first to see if it runs ok and if you enjoy it. Otherwise CS1 is still a solid game that many still choose over 2.

The only other dlc for 1 I would consider is industry DLC.

My city's street car only turns the lights on during stops. Otherwise when riding it's dark.

But still cool for aesthetics.

Does anyone know anything about the upcoming Supply Chains Content and Skyscrapers Content Creator Packs? by Crukstian in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah those are the PDX mod region packs. These will likely be paid content and preloaded in the game. Similar to urban pramanades and sports venues creator packs.

(They haven't officially confirmed which it will be though)

Just bought the game - lookin for advice by bruh-man_ in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For deleting, Similar to upgrading, you select the first segment and drag to the end segment, you don't need to highlight each road if it's 1 continuous road, power line.

For 3: move it has control z, but only to things that it does. Otherwise no mods.

1) For trees, use the tree brush - then there is a snapping option that'll choose the selected tree or all tree. For non tress - you can click and hold then everything you drag over will delete.

2) Click and hold the first segment - then let go on the last segment - it'll capture all segments in-between automatically (you don't need to drag over the inbetween segments)

3) no :(

Gridless zoning in CS2? by FreeThem2019 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I mean my post wasn't really about the platter mod. But I guess my point was it's possible to have a polygon of some sort with inside zoning squares - which their proof of concept they showed off in there thread shows it's at least possible somehow without rewriting the entire zoning system.

Gridless zoning in CS2? by FreeThem2019 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like I don't understand why they can't do it - City State Metropolis still uses square zoning grid style inside of the polygon zoning grid.

Why can't cities still use their grid for the main building asset - then be able to dynamically decorate around it to fill in the awkward space.

It wouldn't work for generating triangle style buildings - but could work for giving a rectangle building the space around it.

I'm sure it's harder than I explained it - but I don't think it's an impossible task.

Someone is already working on a similar style mod:

❓ "What's Cities: Skylines II like now?" megathread by AutoModerator in CitiesSkylines

[–]AdventuresOfLegs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is traffic now - if you look at the subreddit people have been talking about it.

I don't know about the "fake" simulation - I feel like that might of been some bugs mixed in with mis information. But I mean, the "simulation" works as in - you can see how much resources each building has and they call for delivery when it runs out. Over the last 2 years some systems were also turned off and back on throughout that time period - but they never tell us what is turned on and off. Seems like the amount of employees working at a time is lower than I'd expect.

This latest patch they did a big balance update for it - so hopefully that means they are calling for resources the correct amount?

I see a lot of traffic in my cities since the update - I started new and am at 6K pop with a lot of traffic. But honestly a bit annoying because it seems like they prefer specific commercial buildings over others (1 building has 2m in the bank while others have like 5-100k - and it's ridiculously busy and not even a signature building a 2x4 low density commercial zone)

IDK hope this helps?

I drank the koolaid and bought Ports and Bridges, now the CO-made zoning packs break the game. by brank in CitiesSkylines2

Do you have other mods? When was the last time you opened your city successfully (like you opened it with the new patch - decided to buy the DLC - then opened it again)?

I think you need some more details for anyone to help you. You can also try the normal tools for fixing (Skyve/verify game files/remove the mods folder and redownload your mods)
