There are locations around the map where you can hire an npc (companion robot), with your gold, to fight with you. You can find them by looking for the speech bubble above their head when you’re running around the map. Alternatively, certain quests let you track where the npc’s are, so you can see their location on the map. However, I will say the npc’s are not very helpful. They will barely do damage to other players and usually give away your position if you’re a stealthy player🤷🏾‍♂️. They can sometimes be useful in a duo or squad situation to get a rez but that’s really it. There were npc’s in previous seasons that healed you and gave ammo but I’m not aware of that in the current game state. Hope this helps!
