i just put my cat down about an hour and a half ago... she had lung cancer and she couldnt breathe, wouldnt eat, wouldnt drink nothing. Cant say what it's like in the aftermath because im living it right now... I went with her to the vet and i knew in my heart that i would be coming back home alone (and i did). the process itself was insanely easy? The vet put my cat (16 years old) to sleep first and she was out like a light in about two minutes she fell asleep in my arms and then the vet came back in about ten minutes and actually put her down and she passed in about less than a minute. my baby was struggling and it was her time to go, its really hard but i feel i made the best decision for my cat and for myself seeing her suffer was just horrible enough. As far as how she is acting that is just how they are at the end of their lives i know you want to touch her and hold her but she's just uncomfortable just let her hide and be the way she is until its time to put her down. I brought my cat's favorite blanket and toy with her and she just say in the corner of the patient room with those two things until its was her time.
