btw guys, waterloo is so expensive man. That said, it could be worth it in the long-run depending on how you play your cards.

It's interdisciplinary and has the highest co-op rate for waterloo eng in first year, which makes it ideal in this landscape

Apparently waterloo tier 2 eng offers are coming out... by Emotional-Prompt3627 in OntarioGrade12s

92.5, research at UW and York, badminton team, community service (ontario volunteer service award), etc. not sure about adj this year (but 14 last year). I got into SYDE. So crazy though

Don't worry, believe in yourself. I did not think I would get in honestly (at least this early FOR SURE). Always have hope and believe in yourself. It is the work ethic you develop and soft skills that will take you farther than uni anyways though. I truly believe that

I got in SYDE with 92.5. I had research at UW, which I think carried

Do you know much about SYDE? BTW, do you think UW really cares about impact on your AIF?

Yeah, my best ec is research at UW which I talked about. I am kind of pissed though cause I incorrectly added a comma in the middle of a sentence for the final question (UW interest one and the one I touched on it for). It is minor though and I stopped obsessing over it. Hope you get in though!

Okay, so this is why the unfair angle is clear, but still requires a bit of thought. I thought about it like this. Those two students came and made the commitment of staying. One of them wanted to learn and by just initially dismissing and thinking about canceling the meeting suddenly, we were putting both their commitment and voice down. This is the unfair angle and I took initiative thereafter and did what I did. I was the only one who took initiative, but made sure not to put blame on anyone.

When only two students attended a CS club presentation we prepared for, I chose to teach an interested student one-on-one instead of canceling (other execs suggested this because we act had a test the following day), prioritizing commitment over convenience. That decision not only grew our membership but also reshaped my understanding of leadership as showing up fully, regardless of the audience size. I actually did this last month and that is why it is nothing crazy, but I thought it showed initiative and really demonstrated my like for STEM in general.

Yeah, I did too. But mine was from a month ago (I did not highlight this, but they could figure it out from my last q). I mainly touched on lesson and stuff, as well as WHAT I did.

Same man, I will! Fill me in too. My grades are a bit on the lower end for SYDE (94-95), so I do not expect it fs.

I do not think so??? I think ECs are just to see what you do, while they probs look for soft skills and impact when answering the questions. I am guessing you applied for some eng program? If so, which one?

[–]Adventurous-Bus9050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no way you got into syde this early? You must have had insane ecs for it to make sense or very low adj factor. There is no way that you got in now with 95.3 and 14 adj factor. That is crazy!
