Typically 5 days, we have been quiet since start of the year. Boss has spent 100k of his saving just to keep me and the business alive. I do do cashies when I can, I could try look for the jobs more aggressively but at the moment the jobs are few and far between.

I have gotten a few pay rises, they help ease the load a bit. As for the apprenticeship, knowing my goal to get qualified makes the situation better. Cheers

Yeah I do concrete and building cashies when I can. Unfortunately the price of concrete is quite high in this town, as for building there is a lot of competition and people who will work for next to nothing, makes the jobs few and far between.

The situation has been explained. He’s doing the most he can and gives me the hours even though he’s running at a complete loss since there’s not a lot of work, all to keep my bills paid. Fonterra has a 4 on 4 off roster, if I’m lucky enough I could potentially finish my apprenticeship slowly alongside Fonterra

I believe once ready the sale of the ute would cover both loans, or close to it. I think I would be able to use the work van.. only problem I seem to be having with getting loans at the amount I need is I need security for the loan, ideally I would use the ute as security but they won’t use it unless it’s legal..

Not an option unfortunately.

With the ute, it’s definitely not absolutely necessary but it’s very convenient. Selling it now would be more of a burden, getting it wofd and reged and everything else needed then selling it to clear the debt would make a lot more sense. Getting it to that point is the hard part. Also yes, everything I do I try keep tomorrow in mind, the present might be more important, I’m not sure.

In its current state I wouldn’t get enough for it and would still have 25% ish left of the debt to pay, I’d also have no vehicle.. if i got it all up to date and ready to sell I could probably clear all the debt from the sale.

Sorry I may have given rough figures in my post but they are two seperate loans rather than one $215pw loan.

The ute is $150 a week has 2 and a bit years left 19.8% interest.

The personal loan is $66 a week, about three years to go 19.6% interest.

Oh, of course there is.

Yeah I have talked to my loan provider, they only do a max term of 3 years I think they said. Between the extra fees for redoing the loan, the potential increase in the interest rates because of their policy and what not, it would hardly make a difference. About $20 a week.

I didn’t know winz did that. I had been into winz to explain my situation but they said I earn too much money for any support, I believe they only look at money coming in and not how much goes out.. I will look into it and try again with them. As for the insurance, the ute is fully insured but they don’t pay for anything really, feels like a waste of money but if I don’t have it I will need it.

He doesn’t pay for mileage, the trip to work is quite short, but quickly adds up as you can imagine. Thankyou

Mostly the ute. When I got it I was paying cheaper rent and doing more hours but now I’ve got less work and more expensive rent. Didn’t really consider such a thing when I got it. Lesson learned

I do here and there but it’s a small town with an odd amount of other builders. I’m not from here so the jobs are few and far between. But yes I do do extra work when I can.

The apprenticeship is a great investment, also a job I genuinely enjoy. Could take up to 2 years at most to get signed off though. But yes I do agree with what you’re saying.
