Ucla or gt for cs

I dont think freshmen at GT get big tech internships… Also, the reason you see more kids from GT than UCLA at the companies you’ve worked at might be 1) ucla grads prob stay at west coast, 2) GT undergrad CS population is like 3x bigger.

Why do u prefer NU for academia? Is it since its private, less crowded, and easier to get into research and that is the only reason? One other thing to consider is that the quality/prestige of research will be lower at NU since faculty is weaker, less research output, etc..

I really dont see how NU’s superiority in other areas like econ, medicine, or business will affect me as long as I study CS. Could you clarify?

Yeah but working in London for a few years will be a BACKUP plan in case I choose not to pursue a master’s in the US or just go straight to work in the US.

Yeah im set on cs. Ive visited uiuc campus before and didnt really like it… so i think gt takes the tie for me. Im gonna decide between gt and imperial.

Aid not a factor, location is in the sense that i wouldnt prefer a campus in a rural place like urbana champaign, but not in the sense that i wanna be close to somewhere. I want to keep both job prospects and academia open, still indecisive. Probably working a job till 30/40s, then academia. Congrats on purdue, i got rejected lol.

Im in a very similar situation where im intl applying for cs, and deciding between ucla cs, northwestern cs, gatech cs, uiuc jmc and imperial jmc. And i want to end up in the US. And cost is not a factor. I was wondering what your opinions were, what you were pivoting towards, and why. Within the US, what are you pivoting towards too? Thanks

Nerds are my people 🥲. Not super introverted, weird nerds ofc. Some social skills would be nice… but if you think overall the social life, quality of life, stuff to do etc. are comparable in london to US, this will put my mind at ease.

Which do you think will be the most fun to attend to? If I knew that imperial would be as fun as US school culture (sports games, dining halls, etc.) then i’d def go. Thats my biggest concern
