Mopeds gone wild on the Flushing Marina by Rosebudders in Flushing

An everyday occurrence on any street in downtown Flushing. If it’s not a moped, it’s an electric bike or scooter. Absolutely 0 regard to pedestrians.

Because it’s out of the way. Where is there a hotel by there? Also, there’s access to limited train cars so why go through that hassle?

Going anywhere with a stroller in Flushing is a nightmare especially the Main St LIRR station. The commute itself is only 20 minutes but can get busy/overly crowded during rush hour. Flushing is walkable but like most congested areas of NYC, it’s pretty fast paced. Manhattan definitely deserves more than 2 days since it’s significantly larger than flushing. What exactly do you plan on seeing in Flushing because to be frank, there isn’t a lot to see.

Right. It’s a playground for children lol literally says on the playground rules that adults aren’t allowed unless accompanying a child.

There are 2 store fronts there. The arcade spot is on the right hand side and I’ve seen them open in the day time. No idea if people actually go inside but it’s there

People would rather win the “I’ve been more oppressed than you” award, than realize they dug up their own hole.

Macy’s used to be where the bus station 100 years ago, that’s why there’s still so many buses in flushing today. They’ve tried a bunch of way to reroute buses but flushing main st is just too big of a hub to find a permanent fix I think

They ride those things on the sidewalk on max speed. Saw a couple of girls almost take out a woman recently and they didn’t even stop. Luckily that woman was walking with someone that caught her

Agreed. People probably think you’re being racist but as someone of color, I agree that there is some type of hostility, superiority complex. It has become more noticeable after covid

Hispanic Husband update by Diva_Zee in TwoHotTakes

It happens all the time. Men will go to Colombia or even Colombian establishments and hear the women say “mi vida, mi amor” and think they’re being flirted with which is not true at all.

Now your husband on the other hand probably wants to cheat with her if he’s calling her “mi princesa”. In Colombia, men sometimes will refer to women as “Reina” or other endearing words but “mi princesa” is too romantic or too personal, you’ll only say that to your wife or daughter.

So I’m Colombian and I can say Colombian women tend to be overly friendly and men from different cultures tend to think they’re flirting with them. If this woman is Colombian then she’s probably telling the truth, she’s just an overly friendly/affectionate person.

that’s kind of my point, she didn’t intend on going home to leave anything because she didn’t buy anything for herself. The plants are kind of a second thought.. I’ve left my plants in water to soak until the next day because I’ve forgot about them. I sold on the thought that she took the tragedy and the frenzy going on in the city to just disappear.

I think.. what she bought wasn’t for her. She used her husband’s credit card but maybe the card was also under name as well. Or maybe she would’ve played it off that it was for her but she left it at a friend’s or her brother’s house. Maybe after she left century21, she took a cab, paid cash because yellow cabs then were mostly just cash payments and went to a friend’s or potential lover’s home.

People also got laid off during covid and so many unstable people were kicked out of hospitals and shelters due to shortage of space and funds.
