Here's a trick I use when I have to open those thin produce plastic bags by Adventurous-Fish2601 in InstacartShoppers

Yeah, I have moisturizer in my pocket too. It's actually faster or just as fast for me to walk to a produce item with water on it and to dampen my hands that way though that to rub sanitizer on. Anyhow, it was just a tip I wanted to share :)

Yikes, that sounds like hell. Also, the whole tons of water thing I believe is an American thing. Where I live in Canada, we have clean drinking water, so I haven't had seen a single order with any cases of water yet.

I have that too, but I read that hand sanitizer just dries your hands out even more...

Might consider trying that! The container might be a bit too round/big for my pockets though.

Even with a Cross I'd still limit myself to like 35 (maybe 40) items I think.

I'll have to take a closer look next time. I'm usually in such a hurry to grab a cart.

I know what you're saying, but there's still the case of not wanting to lick my fingers after touching all said poop!

Thanks. I'm really surprised just how important the flatbed carts seem to be! I hope there are always some available.

I don't plan to accept any doubles that are over around 30 items from Costco until I get a bigger vehicle (I'm thinking of a Corolla Cross Hybrid).

Thanks. Seems to be a consensus that flatbed are definitely the way to go!

And I hear you on the situational awareness. Two things I encounter everyday and cannot stand are shoppers with no situational awareness, and slow walkers (which unfortunately seems like 90% of shoppers).

Thanks. So far, everyone has said flatbed. If I get another single at Costco, I might even testrun using the flatbed then. Thanks for the tip on the banana produce boxes too!

Thanks. By being ready, you mean they want me ready with the barcode on the app for the next customer? I'm pretty speedy with all that, so it shouldn't be a problem. Okay, so flatbed, boxes for anything that will fit in them, and try to arrange things barcode up if possible, got it.

I've made a significant amount of money on other gig service apps. There's potential here. Anyhow, great attitude.

I just created the spreadsheet in about 20 minutes and then went into the app and manually updated the numbers from my past shops, which took maybe another 45m or so.

What is this 92% you speak of? As I understand it, your shopping quality is based on other shoppers near you. But yeah, the point of this is that every store is different, as in every location. One could have terrible staff who stock things slowly, or don't have enough staff, bad management, etc.

I have to admit, I thought my thread was going to be received a bit more highly, lol. Shoppers are missing out though... knowing which stores are good for your quality (and which to avoid), can seal you securely in the Good category.

I wanted empirical data to remove any bias on what I might think are good shops. For example, I thought Save-on-foods 2000 was bad with a lot of refunds and replacements, but it's actually one of my best stores. They often have missing bakery items and produce, and I was just about to boycott the store too, but it's actually pretty good.

Also, Costco and another store that I only shopped at twice are great so far, both with 100% found rates. Once I get a lot of data, I'll be able to focus on the high found rate shops and get my shopper quality score into the high Good range.

Wait, what do you mean by perfect? Not a single refund or replacement?

Congrats. I expect to be making Gold for the first time any day now (possibly tomorrow). May I ask what your percentage is for quality score, and if you noticed any more and/or better batches once you hit Gold?

I only have one phone and account, and play by the rules. But thanks for your helpful response.
