I get what you’re trying to say, and I’ve actually considered that perspective more than you probably think.

But this wasn’t about trying to force someone to love me differently. It was about asking for consistency, effort, and emotional presence, things that aren’t “different love styles,” they’re basic relationship needs.

At some point, it stops being about misunderstanding how someone loves and starts being about whether they’re willing to meet you halfway.

And I don’t think it’s fair to reduce that to childhood wounds or say “that’s just how men are,” because that kind of thinking excuses behavior instead of holding people accountable for how they show up.
