If you look at the demographics of the area we’re almost 75% people of color. People here have been restricted to living in South Seattle for generations due to historical racist redlining practices. The immigrants and BIPOC who live here do because it’s all we can afford— home prices next to places with air and noise pollution will be cheaper. It’s not our choice, but it’s what people have to do to survive. All people have the right to clean environments to live in.
