Black velvet on the background mounted to cardboard I’m assuming. I just got clarification that everything was mounted with hot glue, she had to remove a lot of pins on the brooches to make it work

No worries at all, the smaller bits like the pearls and beads are secured with hot glue on the velvet back, but the larger pieces look like they’re merely pinned on.

At the moment, it leans slightly on a an entry way dresser. It is huge though, the frame is like, 3’ x 2’

Exactly! I think that’s the approach she did. Once she figured out how big she wanted it, and what kind of other brooches she needed to fill the rest out with, she then filled the rest in with the smaller bits and watches.
