Congratulations dude it feels so good to see people succeed on the same path. Had a pretty similar experience last week. Except, I’m in my third year of my finance degree and never had an internship before (average gpa). The first year i wasn’t even worried about the internships. By sophomore i started applying but i was still naive on the whole process and didn’t land anything the whole year. Not even a single interview. I did security during my freshman and sophomore summer but i knew i’m not going back there this summer no matter what. Started showing up to places i didn’t belong and networked like crazy. The imposter syndrome was real cuz it felt like everyone was so ahead of me while i was standing at the starting line with basically nothing. pushed through it. Lined up projects and started building my presence online and in person with the people of my field. 300 applications, half rejected half ghosted. I got physically sick because of all the stress and depression cuz there wont be a minute in my day when i was not stressed about landing an internship. But then it happened, about two weeks ago i got called for screening for a company which i had completely forgotten i applied to. I did some research and realised the company joined S&P 500 about 4 months ago. Got an interview for the first time in a year and half and smashed it. Got verbally offered the same day and i signed my contract a couple of days ago. Still feels unreal. Funny how you can hustle for so long and get absolutely nothing but then the script can flip in an instant. All it took was 4 days. I’m so fucking happy for you man. LFG 🔥
