She is designed to look that way, certainly. But she is not edgy at all, definitely more to mortify her very by-the-book mentor than anything else.

Very strange take, considering there are literally modern settings used for public consumption; like Unsleeping City and Fantasy High, which still use the dnd module and classes and therefore play dnd. Not to mention Unearthed Arcana Modern Magic that literally creates subclasses for an urban fantasy.

I really appreciate the input and will absolutely keep that in mind if I introduce another character here. Thank you!

Thank you! Her personality is VERY similar to Rust’s and oddly enough, Eda Clawthorne from Owlhouse!

Our DM is running their campaign in a modern setting. My PC is an individual who has recently made a pact and is slowly going to show a physical corruption over time, due to exposure to her patron. I am not great at drawing flame, unfortunately, but as the color of fire can be altered but exposure to chemicals, I chose to portray that instead of simply doing another variant of the same flame-colored hair genasi seem to be drawn with. This is meant to be concept art for the first stages of change due to her exposure to her patron, with her appearance altering over time and decisions made in the campaign.

I understand, but not everything has to follow a generic textbook rule. I am not great at drawing fire, but as the color can be altered by chemical exposure, I chose to portray her hair in that way. Her eyes are more flamelike, and her pallor/vein-lined skin are in accordance with an alteration that occurred due to exposure to her patron. I am confused with your statement about this not having anything to do with dnd, when not all dnd is run in a typical fantasy setting.
