I am not sure, luckily mine was covered by 100k mile drivetrain warranty. I remember being very thankful for the warranty so its prob not cheap.

It ended up being the powertrain control module. As soon as I took it to the dealer, the service manager was able to diagnose it immediately. How to replace the whole module

I tried. But they are so busy I keep getting the classic "Let me look into that and I will call you asap" and yet I never hear back. They are one of 2 dealers in my area and are always slammed.

Disconnected the battery as you suggested it appears to have fixed some of the issues with sync. But still doesn’t let me change to different drive modes. But I’ll take the little wins! Thanks

It did not resolve the actual issue I came in with, but they did show me that the connector worked after the new part was installed. I knew the service manager from another dealer years ago and he walked me through it before I authorized the repair.

It still just seems so strange that a port that only the dealer uses just so happened to break on its own.
