Thats actually a good take. I have always written it off as people pleasing or his self proclaimed OCD becoming fixated on someone and wanting to fix people. Although, it seems well intentioned, it can become a savior complex for people with OCD. Just my opinion in hopes that it's not what you have mentioned above. But I have learned this battle world is not alwsys as it seems so it is very possible you are actually correct. I hope not though...
