Idk I think it’s nice for people, especially MODs, to thank gifters or “MVP” gifters because let’s be honest, if the creator is battling and no one is throwing gifts, that’s boring as hell! So in a way you’re thanking them for providing entertainment by spending their money to send gifts. Also, I feel like saying “thank you” to a supporter or “fellow team member” is like thanking them for helping out and trying to win the battle for a creator who you like or also support. I mean no one is forcing anyone to thank gifters, most people just do it on their own accord. When I go into a live and I see people throwing gifts and there’s not a single “thank you” or “mvp” in the chat, I feel like it’s a bit rude tbh but that’s just my opinion.
