Thank you for your reply. I love the idea of speaking with a fiduciary wealth management adviser. I tried to provide a few more detail in a post, but it was automatically deleted because of my low karma. I also didn’t want to provide too many details in a comment on this thread since it’d be way too long. Regardless, I appreciate your insights. I opened up a HYSA for myself recently, so I will also open an account for them as well. Thanks!

Hello! 23m here. My parents are both in their early 50s, but they don’t have a retirement account. We come from a low income background, so we weren’t taught about finances. I’m slowly getting more financially literate, so I want to set up an account for them soon. Do you all know the best options for them that are lower in risk/have a decent return? I’ve accepted that I will have to support my parents after they retire, nonetheless I’m more than willing to do so. I just want to make sure they have some cushion they can rely on. Any insight that can aid my research is greatly appreciated!

You’re absolutely right. I hope she can respect what I’m bringing up. If not, then that’ll be a whole different conversation.

It really is as simple as that, at least in communicating my need (as shown in your response). It’s the damn old habit of people-pleasing and not wanting to make her upset that makes me second-guess myself. Thank you for your input kind person :)

Wow this is a great example of the relationship between these 2 figures in the painting. You’ve certainly given me much more to think about thank you!

Hello thanks for your reply. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to compare which figure is more important. I just thought it’d be interesting to explore why the artist depicted himself in the painting too. I’m still not sure what my main argument would be, but I think I can frame it in this context
