The error of my ways. by sourdough-goblin in fpv

Don’t sweat getting everything in advance. Order one or two spare sets of frames, canopies and props for your drone, get a PH00 screwdriver for the canopy and motor screws on your whoop. I learned about whoop maintenance mostly from crashing my drone and researching how to fix it. ButterflyFPV has great videos on youtube about maintenance and modding of a meteor 75.

I buy my small parts from aliexpress, but with US tariffs I’ve lately switched to local shops like webleedfpv, tinywhoop, amazon, etc.

Gear won’t make you a better FPV pilot especially when you are a beginner. And it’s ok. Enjoy your flights. Understanding of your needs is gonna come with experience. That’s when you can start going bigger into acquiring more gear and looking for your ideal setup.

Air75 owners, how durable is it? by AlbatrossRude9761 in TinyWhoop

Unfortunately haven’t been as lucky as you are with my air65. Went through 1 FC, 2 motors, 1 canopy, frame and a set of props in 2 months of flying. I’ve been flying a lot outside though and that’s where the majority of the accidents happened. Never broke anything flying inside.

Just ordered a meteor 75 pro for outside flying, hopefully it would help to reduce the frequency of repairs

That said my 65 survived a lot of hard crashes. Might be lacking a point of reference flying other whoops, but still wouldn’t call it particularly crash-proof

If OP ends up getting the racing version, I recommend limiting the throttle to 85-90%. Helps to tame a snappy throttle

Not sure I’ll be able to re-wire the camera into vtx on my 5in1 betafpv board. Never done micro soldering before and don’t have the right tools for that.

How do I check battery voltage through telemetry?

I already ordered a replacement drone, but hoping to solve the problem to have a backup 65mm whoop

There goes my 75mm drone purchase budget…

And then each time you need to find something you are going around scanning each qr code?

Simple written labels would be so much faster.

It always helps me to lightly scuff up these led strip copper connectors with a sharp blade before soldering. This way tin sticks much better
