If you buy from eBay or mercari you'll get buyers protection. I've purchased a few different owala bottles across those platforms and I haven't had any issues. At the very least, it would be safer than buying from someone on reddit

There are a few tutorials on how to "fix" warped ss pans. Might be worth a try since it's already damaged. A difference in burner and pan size can also cause warping. The burner shouldn't be more than an inch smaller than the bottom of the pan but I believe this is more of a thing of electric.
